Chapter 24

Adira ran as if her life depended on it. She hated the world and everything. She justr wanted to let everything go. Couldn't anything go right for her at least once. Her tears flew off her face as she was running through the woods. She sometimes wiped them away as they blurried her vision. She didn't know how long she ran. An hour. She was so exhausted but she couldn't stay here no more. She had to leave. Just leave everything behind and go back to Greece and just live freely. She suddenly stopped as suddenly snowflakes fell around her. One landed on her nose. Strangely it did not melt once it touched her skin. She took a few more steps and fell down exhausted. Her lungs hurt. She breathed in the cold air. It hurt. She crawled over towards a tree and leaned on it holding her fist against her chest as she cried. Her chest tightened in pain. Slowly she grew tired. She slowly closed her eyes..........falling asleep. The last things she caught were a pair of legs that walked towards her in a hurried matter. Too tired.

Hyde ran as fast as he could shifting into his white wolf. He ran as if his life depended. He just hoped she was fine. He followed her scent. The snow was already ankle high and it just kept falling and falling. Indeed it was cold. He didn't know what urged him to go. Right after he saw the snow, he just ran outside and into the woods catching a wiff of her scent. Please be ok he whishpered.

Her scent appeared stronger and stronger as he got deeper in. And just a few yeads ahead he saw her laying against a tree. He shifted back and quickly ran towards her. Her eyes were closed. He caressed her face bringing it towards his chest as he held her, his emotions mixing up together. He wasn't sure what he felt, happiness, relief, sadness. He just felt a ton of emotions. He quickly picked her up bridal holding her close to his naked body trying to warm her up with his body heat. Her skin felt like posion as his skinned burned from her coldness. But he ignored it. She was still alive in his arms and he would take her back. It was a miracle that she had lived this long in the colness. He kissed her forhead and started walking forth until he heard the crunch of the snow. He turned his head back.

He only saw the black wolf that dissappered into the distance. But he finally understood what kept her alive.

He looked at the ground in disbelief for a second but quickly left ignoring the presence of the familiar black wolf that he known his entire life.

He ran back cradling Adira to his body to keep her warm.

Angela woke up during the night when she heard the water running from the shower. She sat up and looked toward her side that was empty. She wondered why Wade was taking a shower way into the night. She opened the bathroom door. The hot steam from the shower filtered out the top.

"Wade?" she called out. She slowly opened the shower door. Her eyes lifted in surprise.

Wade was sitting on the bathroom floor dressed only in his boxers. He was leaning against the wall and welcoming the comfort of the heat of the water. He looked up slowly and saw Angela.

He tiredly asked "Why aren't you sleeping? It's late you should go back to sleep."

"Wade is that all you are worried about?" she cried as she got into the shower and kneeled caressing Wade face not caring she was getting wet. "You're body! What happened?" She cried. "It's....." Because on Wade's body, his skin was all red and bruised. Espicially on his right arm. And then on his body blood seeped out as it seemed to connect with the water and drain into the drain. "Wade" she cried. "You have to go see the doctor." She was going to get up but was quickly pulled back down.
