It's been a couple weeks since Y/N's accident. He had been on a ventilator for a few days, until he woke up. The only time that Kendall had left the hospital was to go home and shower.

That meant that Caleb had to stay at other peoples houses. One night at Kris, the next at Kylies, and another at Khloes. They'd take him to the hospital with them of a morning and he'd stay until the next person was ready to go home.

But there was one thing that bothered everyone. Caleb refused to go back and see Y/N.

The doctors said it was okay for him to, but anytime anyone would try to get him to go back, he refused.

"Hey there mini Kendall!" Kourtney laughed as she walked into the hospital waiting room.

Caleb looked up and smiled. He couldn't lie, Kourtney was his favorite aunt.

She sat down next to him and placed a bag on the table in front of them. She handed him a drink and then pulled out a McDonald's kid meal.

"I thought you don't eat these?" He asked as he ate a fry.

"I don't, but you do." She smiled.

He smiled and opened his chicken nuggets. "Is your mom back there with your dad?" She asked.

"And Lovey, Kylie, Khloe, and Kim."

"They left you out here by yourself?" She questioned.

He shook his head. "Scott was out here, but went to the bathroom."

She nodded. They sat there in silence for a while until Kourtney finally decided to ask the question that's been lingering on everyone's minds.

"How come you haven't gone back there?"

He shrugged his shoulders. "I like sitting out here."

"Ca-" "I actually talk to a lot of people. There was this one man here whose wife was in here. The only time he left her room was to get a cup of coffee."

"Caleb, why are you avoiding the question?" She asked.

He didn't say anything and looked down at his cup. He placed it on the table and intertwined his fingers.

"I can't lose my dad...." he said softly.

"What?"

He looked up at her. "My dad's gonna die. Isn't he?"

"What in the world makes you think he's going to die?"

"Reign got hit by a car and he did."

"That doesn't mean your dad will. Your dad is perfectly fine." Kourtney tried to explain to her young nephew.

"I saw Reign when he was going to the hospital. If I don't see dad, he won't die."

Kourtney quickly wiped her eyes. "Caleb, do you think it's your fault your dad's in the hospital?"

He looked up, tears threatening to leave his eyes. "I should have gone to my game. Mom and Dad wouldn't have thought if I did. I.... I can't lose my dad."

"Why do you blame yourself for Reign?" She asked. He hadn't admitted it, but ever since the accident, he hasn't talked about it like Mason, Penelope, North, or Saint has.

"I let him go out to the street. I tried to get him to wait until morning, I really did. But, he didn't want to. I saw the truck coming, I yelled, but he didn't hear me." He started to cry at the painful memory of his best friend and he fear of what may happen to Y/N.

She pulled him from his seat and hugged him tightly. "Buddy, it's not your fault. Neither one of those is your fault. Everything is going to be just fine." She cried as she held on to him, just like if he was Mason or Penelope.

Scott walked back into the waiting room and stopped once he noticed the two. "What happened? Is Y/N okay?"

Kourtney let go of Caleb and they both stood up. "Can I go see Dad?"

Kourtney wiped her eyes and nodded. She held on to his hand as the three made their way down the hallway.

As they walked, all Scott could think about was how Kourtney changed Caleb's mind in just a small amount of time.

Scott knocked on the door. "Come in!" They heard Kendall yell.

Scott opened the door and he walked in first. "Y/N you have a visitor." Caleb heard Scott say as Kourtney walked in front of him.

Caleb walked in and saw Kylie, Kim, and Khloe on a couch by the wall. Kris was sitting in a recliner by the bed, Kendall was on the bed by Y/N, and in the recliner on the other side was a man he hasn't seen before.

The first glance at Y/N made Caleb do a double take. Y/N had wires attached to him, a big scrape on the side of his face, his hand was wrapped up, and he had scratches on his face.

"Hey buddy." Y/N said as he slowly sat up.

Caleb didn't say anything. He squeezed Kourtneys hand tighter.

Kendall scooted to the side of the bed and held her arms out. "Come here buddy."

Caleb let go of his aunt's hand and slowly walked over to the bed. Kendall lifted him up and sat him by her.

"Have you been a good boy?" Y/N asked.

He nodded. "I've missed you." Y/N said.

"I've missed you too dad." He said softly, trying not to cry again.

They all sat there in silence until Caleb got the courage to speak again. "When are you coming home?"

"Soon. I'll be home soon bud." He nodded.

Caleb looked down at the ground. "Your grandpa came by yesterday."

He smiled. He always loved going to see his grandpa Y/L/N. Even though he lived all he way in San Diego, he always made time to come see Caleb.

"He offered to take you back home with him for a while, but we told him that you were okay." Kendall told him.

Caleb frowned.

"I'm going to go get lunch. Have you ate Caleb?" The man in the other recliner said as he got out of his chair. Caleb was confused at the man's voice. He didn't sound like anyone else in the room.

Caleb raised his brow. "Who are you?"

"Caleb, you honestly don't remember him?" Y/N asked.

Caleb shook his head.

"I'm your uncle Liam."

Caleb was still confused.

"Liam Payne?"
