Chapter 12

Time With my Girls in Nordstrom

"So, I heard about that game you and Jacob are playing," Heather commented. We were in Nordstrom with Jenny, looking for shoes in the Woman's section. They had the best high heels.

"How? It's not really a big deal..." I stammered. Jenny came up to us and held up a pair of black stilettos.

"What do you think guys?" Then she put them on and looked in the mirror. We came up and admired the beautiful shoes.

"They go well with you, judging you have long legs. Lucky. I just have to be the short one. Why not Jacob?" Heather cursed.

"Jacob's tall, you're short. If he wasn't your brother, you guys would be a cute couple," Jenny said.

"Eew! That's disgusting," Heather mumbled. I laughed, knowing how much she hates him. I feel the same about Connor, but sometimes he can be nice.

"So, if we're talking about Jacob..." Jenny then looked at me with knowing eyes. "Is there anything going on between you too?"

"No. Not at all. I mean, we. might've kissed...once..." I mumbled. Curse my honesty.

Both Heather and Jenny stared at me, their jaws dropping. I giggled. They looked like idiots.

"My brother never told me any of this..."

"Yeah, Jacob usually is the one to kiss and tell. I'm surprised he didn't tell anyone."

I ignored them and slipped my foot into a pair of fashionable boots. Jenny sat next to me, taking off her stilettos. Heather went to find the highest five-inch high heels she could find.

"He kissed you?" Jenny whispered, frowning. I nodded. She sighed, and I couldn't help but feel that she was jealous.

"I have a question," I turned to face her. "Do you like him?" Then Jenny laughed. Really loud. I frowned, not understanding.

"Claire, I have a boyfriend," Jenny smiled, blushing. How did I not know that? And how come Jacob had said Jenny has the hots for Tucker even though she has a boyfriend?

"Oh. What about Tucker?"

"We had a history. In middle school. But now we're best friends, and I couldn't wish for anything else."

"Hey guys!!! Let's go to Great American Cookies, I just saw it," Heather announced, joining us. She had already paid for our shoes. Me and Jenny stood up, and we left Nordstrom. I'm still gonna ask her about Jacob....I just don't know when.
