Shahid Kapoor as Mr Malhotra
"All it takes a memory to remember to bring a smile and a tear.
Sara:
The sweet aroma of chocolate and milk together had me mouthwatering. The instant caffeine and energy boost that chocolate and sugar gave me was not the only thing. It brought back me certain memories.
As the rain drops splashed at my window,I thoroughly enjoyed it.It had been so long when I was sitting peacefully and enjoying rain.Ah!The smell of earth it brought is always so great and loved by me.I once even tried to trap this smell when I was three.Everyone had a good laugh.
My old photo album had that old book smell which made me smile. As I sipped my hot chocolate,I started to see our family pictures. It was my personal album.
It was written:
My pwersonal Albumm
I laughed out at my spelling mistakes.
It opened up to a photo where Mom and dad were holding me and Saransh. We were little babies.I was giggling and he was frowning.
Slowly,as I turned pages, old memories rushed in and made me feel so nostalgic.
And then I came across that one photo.
It was labelled:Me and my best fwiend
It was me and Aditya standing together where he tried to hide his face and I was laughing trying to show his face.
I remembered it was taken by mom.And that memory became refreshed:
I was probably two or three year old kid.I liked playing dolls and using my plastic kitchen set preparing imaginary yummy dishes.
My brother liked to use that car of his trying to harm my doll. But he always stopped when it reached tip of the doll's leg.I knew he tried to scare me but he would never harm it.
My mummy was very excited.I had learned few words and tried to speak it right.
I asked mummy,"Mommy!You happy?"
She smiled and nodded.
I clapped my hands as my mommy was happy.
My brother also started laughing.
So many new things were being made for this special guest.I smelled those aromas.Definitely it was spicy whatever was being made.I smiled and neatly arranged my toys at my room.
In a few hours,I heard the doorbell rang.We all ran towards the door.
When mommy opened the door there stood a very pretty lady.My mommy and that lady hugged each other and me and my brother smiled at the sight.
The lady shifted her gazes to us and smiled sweetly to us and offered us gifts.
Of course mommy protested.Sadly my brother whined and threatened to cry for the gift and the lady gave it to him laughing while my mother shaked her head.
I stood there shyly. The lady noticed I was not extrovert. She bent down to my level and said to me giving a sweet smile,"Hey Sara!I am your mommy's best friend,Khushi."
I tried to say,"bwest fwiend?"
She laughed and nodded.I giggled.
She handed me a gift.It was very neatly wrapped gift.I looked over to mommy and she nodded.I took the gift carefully and said,"Thwank you Aunty!"She kissed my forehead and stood up.
My brother then spoke,"Who's he?"
It was then I saw a boy of our age.His hair was jet black combed neatly and he wore a button up shirt and jeans. He had a serious expression.
Khushi Aunty announced proudly,"Meet my son,Aditya."Me and my brother shared curious gaze.Aditya greeted mommy like daddy was greeted by his partners.
Mommy said to us,"Come on everyone!Go and play.Be Friends."
They went to kitchen and we heard loud giggling and talks.
Saransh and Aditya stared each other until they started talking cars and boys stuff.
Seeing I was being ignored,I quickly got out of the room and went to my room.
I took out a paper and scissors to cut imaginary potatoes and beans.
My books had on how to make food with kids.
As I quietly completed cutting my veggie that were imaginary I tried to imitate those Tv anchors on cookery show.
But nowhere I started singing Let it go.My mom's favourite song.
I started humming it slowly,"Snow glows White mountain tonigh, not a footprin to be seen."
Yes I missed those spellings and pronounced it wrong.
Suddenly a voice startled me,"It's tonight not tonigh and its footprint not footprin"
I snapped my head and found Aditya standing.
I murmured suddenly nervous,"Adwitya?"
He shaked his head and said,"Aditya."
After a couple of times trying to say his name correct I finally said,"Aditya."
His mouth formed a boyish grin which some minutes ago was annoyed one as she had spoken wrong name.
He said,"That's right princessa."
Her expression which was a shy one turned to annoyed one.
"Don't call me princessa!"
He asked,"Why?"
She pouted and said,"I just don't like it.It makes me feel a spoiled child."
He said,"Definitely princessa is what I am going to call you when you annoy me."she asked,"What makes you think I will meet you again?"
He shrugged and replied,"Our moms."
She nodded. He was right about that.
He then spoke,"Why do you hide?"She frowned,"What do I hide?"
He spoke as if not a small child,"You speak nicely, then why did you act as you didn't know words."
She reddened up.No one had noticed that.
I replied,"So no one expects me to be too perfect for my age as my friends do."
Yes.Being a well known person's daughter gave you unwanted attention and expected you to be perfect.
He nodded as if he understood but then he said,"Don't hide this with your mommy. She will help you."
I did before the dinner.I was embarrassed to speak in front of Khushi Aunty but gladly she and mommy together first hugged me and mommy reassured me,"My baby no one is perfect. We don't expect you to be.We are glad you shared your problem with us.I am proud of you,Sara."
Aditya stood out of the room pacing.
I did the unexpected.I kissed him.
