After "core course" the people at pcc called it, Leah, Cam, and Kyle all walked back to their dorm, Boland. All three of them were pretty tired, given the fact that the core course was just an introduction to the camp.
Leah hung out in her room alone for a little while playing music on her phone, untill Cam knocked on the door. "Caaaaaaaaaaaan I come in?" He asked.
"Yeah, sure." Leah answered sitting up on her bed. Cam hoisted himself up onto the bed next to her. "How you doing?"
"Fine, why?"
"You seem a little, uuuuuuh..."
"Off?"
"Yeah, that."
"I'm alright I guess. Just trying not to freak out.."
"Hey, you'll be awesome. I guarantee it."
"I'm just a little overwhelmed you know?"
"Yeah, I getcha." He pulled her head on his shoulder.
The two of them sat in silence, with nothing but Leah's music playing in the background. Leah could feel herself starting to fall asleep on Cam's shoulder. "I'll be right back." she said, getting and grabbing her phone to give it back to her hall proctor. After putting her phone into the bucket, she walked back into her room, where Cam was examining her cork board. The board had three pictures on it, one of her mother, one of her father, and one of her sister. Leah cleared he throat, spooking Cam so that he jumped a bit and sat back down on the bed. Leah laughed a little, as Cam ran his hand through his hair and smiled awkwardly.
"You have a sister?" he asked.
"Yeah." Leah answered sitting on the bed next to Cam again.
"Older or Younger?"
"Older, she's 18, so we're three years apart."
"Oh cool."
They sat on the bed, in silence, for about five more minutes until Cam hopped off the bed and said, "I'm gonna go back to my floor before my proctor starts to wonder where I am."
"Okay."
"I'll come get you for breakfast in the morning, okay? Lets say around like......7:30?"
"Yeah, sounds good."
"Alright, good night."
"Night."
Cam walked down the hall and turned the corner, out of Leah's sight. After closing her door and settling into bed, Leah began to think about the next day. She admitted it, she was scared.
. . .
The next morning Cam woke up around 6:45. His alarm was set to that time, but he wasn't sure if he should keep it set at that time. He got out of bed, took a shower, and got back into his room. By the time he was done getting ready it was 7:25, so he decided to go get Leah.
He hiked up the flight of stairs from the basement up to the second floor. Normally it took him forever to find Leah's room, but this time it took him about thirty seconds. When he came closer to Leah's room, he saw her in the doorway. He stopped and walked in a circle when he noticed that she was putting a shirt on over her bra.
Leah turned around after hearing nervous laughter. "Oh, hey Cam. What's-uuh- what are you doing?"
He laughed nervously and walked back over to the doorway. "I just never thought I'd see you in your bra."
Leah laughed and grabbed her guitar case. "C'mon ya big goof, let's go." Cam snapped into attention when he say her guitar case. "Crap, I forgot my guitar. I gotta run back down to the basement real quick, you wanna come with?"
"Yeah, sure." Leah said grabbing her ipod off her desk along with a pair of earbuds.
Cam and Leah jogged down the stairs to the basement and went into Cam's room. The room was barely decorated on Kyle's side, but on Cam's side there was at least two posters. There wasn't much to look at in the room, it was pretty plain.
Cam zipped up his guitar case and slung it over his shoulder. "Alright," Cam said, mainly to grab Leah's attention. "Lets go."
The two of them met up with Kyle and Grace in the lobby and headed off to breakfast with everyone else. It was weird for them to have to adjust so quickly, but it would be alot easier to adjust then they thought.
