Chapter seven

The table they were underneath was infested with bullets and more were raining down. "We've got to move, the table won't last much longer." The Spanish man said. "Why do you continue to state the obvious?" The black man frowned.

"Stay right here!" Jayshawn ordered, grabbing his gun, the black man followed. The two of them began shooting from 9MM guns. Selin looked around her and saw a sea of red, sirens blared through the air, making Selin go deaf for a second or two.

"Come on Selin!" Jayshawn helped Selin get up, they started running in the direction of the car but Selin dropped in her heels. "Get up!" Jayshawn shouted. "I can't." Selin whispered, Jayshawn picked her up and ran with her over his shoulder.

Jayshawn placed Selin on the backseats of the car. "This is your fault!" Selin hissed through the pain. "My fault?" Jayshawn yelled. "I twisted my ankle and I was shot at but it wasn't your fault no?" Selin shouted as Jayshawn pulled up outside the house.

"The second time in two days that somebody has tried to kill me but nope Jayshawn William, the biggest kingpin in Manhattan had nothing to do with it right?" Selin shouted.

Jayshawn pinned Selin against the wall as his tone became menacing. "If it wasn't for me, you would be dead. Now this is a bullshit freezone, bitch I don't tolerate with bull,next time you shout at me there will be a consequence. I'm not one of your bitches,I'm not one of them niggas trying to impress you and I'm not your hoe of a mother! You best lose that tone before you lose your head." Jayshawn whispered.

Selins tears made her make up stream,she rubbed her wrist and wiped her cheek. "It's good to see the real you." Selin nodded her head and hobbled in to her room.

Selin walked in to the en suite bathroom,she ran her hands over the silver and white marble tiles, she walked past the shower and she sat on the edge of the bath. She turned on the gold taps and walked back out of the room.

She went in to the walk in wardrobe and pulled out an oversized t shirt, gym shorts and a bra and panties. Selin walked back in to the bathroom , locked the door and slipped in to the water.

Selin grabbed her face cloth and wiped her face when she heard a knock on the bathroom door. "Selin,I'm sorry." Jayshawn said. "Go away, I'm trying to bathe!" Selin yelled. "Listen to me-" "I don't want to listen to you!" Selin screamed. "Well then I'm coming in." Selin heard a key go in to the door. "No! I'll come out and I'll talk to you just don't come in!" Selin grabbed her towel and wrapped it around her and walked out of the bathroom.

"Wait here." Selin picked the clothes up from off of the bed and walked in to the walk in closet. "I don't care if you have a key, don't walk in!" She yelled.

Two minutes later she walked out of the wardrobe and sat on the bed. "How do you know?" Selin asked. "Know what?" Jayshawn frowned. "About my mother,my real mother. I had my last name changed to my foster mother's name and yet you still knew. How?" Selin put her hands on her waist.

"I had someone do a background check on you as soon as you walked through my front door." Jayshawn said. "Did it tell you who my father is?" Selin asked, Jayshawn shook his head.

"Only your mother was on your birth certificate." Jayshawn shrugged. "Look, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have put my hands on you, I shouldn't have disrespected you like that and I shouldn't have gotten mad at you for telling me the truth. I'm sorry." Jayshawn sighed.

"You know, I felt a lot safer before I met you." Selin crossed her arms."I'm not going to lie to protect your feelings if you don't even care about my mine, you don't know anything about apart from what you've read which is nowhere near half of the things I've gone through, you don't know the pain I felt, you know nothing." Selin said.

"And I'm supposed to be happy that you've kidnapped me because some dumb ass with a name like Money is after me? I've nearly died twice since I met you!" Selin shouted.

"I can see you're upset, we'll talk more in the morning." Jayshawn walked out.

"Urgh!" Selin threw herself on to the bed and screamed in to the pillow.
