It's A Shakespeare Thing

Chapter 6

Ryan

Today was going to be an awesome day. Ray was sitting in the passenger seat looking out the window as we drove down the road. It had been forever since we had time for just the two of us. We were either at school, doing school work, or with friends. I wanted today to be a day just for us to reconnect as twins.

Being a twin is one of the best things in the world. You are never alone, and no matter what you know your twin is going to be there for you. I would do anything for Ray, and I know she would do the same for me.

Ray and I have always been really close. When we were younger people though we were weird because we could not only finish each others sentences, but we also always seemed to know what the other was thinking. Like now, I know that Ray is trying to figure out where we are going.

"Quit trying to guess." I told her.

"Then tell me and I won't have to guess." Ray looked at me with a smirk on her face.

"Come on Ray, don't ruin my fun." I sighed.

"Fine, I'll give it up." Ray huffed.

"Thought you would." I chuckled as we fell into a comfortable silence.

An hour and a half later I heard Ray gasp. I knew she had seen where we were going. I smiled as I looked at the rides towering over the trees. I pulled into the amusement park and paid for parking. Ray didn't say anything until we got out of the car.

"I haven't been here in forever!" Ray exclaimed as she hugged me.

"I know sis. We used to love coming here as kids." I smiled happily knowing that she loved my surprise.

"Yeah we did. Come on I want to ride everything!" Ray all but dragged me to the ticket booths.

I paid for our admission and we made our way through the entrance and into the park. Ray tugged my hand towards the left and I knew what she wanted.

"Roller coasters first? Really?" I questioned as we made our way over to the line for one of the smaller of the many roller coasters the park had.

"Please!" Ray begged.

"Sure, why not?" I shrugged as the worker ushered us through the gate.

Of course Ray wanted to sit in the very front. I hate sitting in the front. I'm always afraid the wheels are going to come off the track and I'll plummet to a very gruesome death. Once everyone was seated and strapped in properly the operator began to slowly move the roller coaster. I began to get more nervous as we got closer to the edge.

"Just breathe, Ry." Ray chuckled.

"You know I hate these things." I told her in a shaky voice.

It's not that I was afraid to ride a roller coaster. I actually love them. I just hate the big drop at the beginning.

"Then close your eyes and don't look down." She instructed me.

I nodded my head then closed my eyes. It helped a little until we stopped. It was then that I made the mistake to open my eyes to see what was going on. I screamed as we plummeted down the rails. I could hear Ray laughing beside me as we barreled towards one of the two loops on the ride. Within seconds we made it through the loops and the ride was over.

"That was freaking hilarious." Ray held her stomach she was laughing so hard.

"It was not." I grumbled.
