Living A Dream

Chapter 7

I looked to my right to see Kara talking with some other freshmen as they were in the big box waiting for a ball to come. I wasn't surprised, that's what I did my first year.

I looked to see Alex shuffling around in the middle, trying to get ready for the ball. Kelley came up the left side with Morgan Brian fighting her for it.

I ran up to the both of them, charging at Kelley who still had the ball. She screamed and stopped in her tracks, Morgan stopping with her. The ball kept rolling and it came right to me.

I turned back to the net and took off. I looked for Kara but she was busy with a different ball. I tried to find Alex but she was hidden in the mob. I did a move around one of the sophomores and kept going.

"Tobin!" came the familiar raspy voice. I looked to my right and saw Alex moving around for me. I sent the ball to her but someone ran in front of it, reflecting it so it went higher into the air.

A few other girls saw the ball and were following it's path, Alex doing the same. They all stopped before the 6 yard line because you can't score from inside there.

The ball came down to them and Alex got her head on it. It was a beautiful ball to the bottom right corner and the goalie couldn't get to it.

"Djibouti!" Alex yelled before the ball went in the goal. When the ball hit the net, she ran to me and gave me a hug.

"That was an amazing send!" she yelled, still excited about the goal. I held her tightly in the hug, she was pretty cute, I have to give her that.

"Kara, come off, we scored." I yelled to Kara. She stepped over the end line and stood with us.

"Who scored?" she asked, looking at the two of us. She was panting, probably from trying to get the ball from her friends.

"Alex did, it was a very nice goal. Just keep doing what you're doing, don't give up on the ball and make sure you yell Djibouti before you score so it counts." I said to her, giving her a pat on the back. She nodded and then went off to her friends who also scored and were waiting for the next round.

Alex and I shagged some of the balls and put them back in the net, the goalie punted out another ball and Alex and I watched everyone on the field.

Hope and Kelley had one of the balls all to themselves on the right side. Hope took the ball wide and Kelley went in to the middle. Hope sent it in central and Kelley volleyed it into the net.

"Ireland!" she screamed watching as the keeper got her fingertips on the ball, but couldn't save it. Hope ran to Kelley, picked her up and ran off the field with her.

"Yes!" Kelley yelled, still over Hope's shoulder. Hope signalled over her other teammate and they walked off the field.

"Good goal babe." Hope said as she put her girlfriend down. They exchanged a quick kiss and then turned to us.

Kelley looked over to me and caught me off guard by running towards me. I stepped out of the way and she ran into Alex instead.

The force of Kelley knocking Alex down, I quickly stuck my arms out to catch her, grabbing one of her hands in the process, but she took me down with her.

I felt my back smack against the hot turf. Not a second later came Alex on top of me. I let out a slight groan from the pressure.

Her head was against my chest and her hand was intertwined with mine from when I tried catching her. She also let out a groan and at the same time I felt her hand squeeze mine.

She lifted her head off of my chest and looked me in the eyes. I looked right back. She did have the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen. I smiled at her, making her blush a little.

"Either kiss or get off each other, this is getting weird." Hope said, looking down at us. Kelley now by her side, also looking at us.

Alex blushed even more, then looked up at them. I reluctantly let go of her hand and lifted her off me, making sure to set her next to me gently.

I got up and then gave her my hand. She took it and with the one arm, I lifted her up on to her feet.

"I forgot how strong you were." she said, looking at my arm that I used to help her up. I gave her my signature smile and walked to the field again for round 2.

Hope and I lost track of time so we ended up playing World Cup the entire time with water breaks between some of the rounds. Not that I'm complaining, it's a fun game.

Alex and I were on a role, Kara ended up assisting one of my goals, but other than that she was talking with her friends.

"Alright ladies, same time next week, good job and I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day." I said, watching the girls walk off.

I waited for a few minutes and answered questions some of the freshmen had for me. Then I went over to Alex, Kelley and Hope and got my bag back in order.

"The Gatorade is nearly empty so you can take it this time." I said looking at Hope. She grunted in response and took it with her as she walked with Kelley.

"Ready to go?" I asked Alex. She nodded in response and we started walking out of the stadium. I closed the gate behind us and then locked it up.

We got to the car and put our bags in the back and got in. I turned on the car and immediately put the air on to cool us down.

"Hey, you wouldn't happen to want to hang out today, would you?" she asked, looking at me with her intense blue eyes.

I don't really have anywhere to be today. I don't have work and it's not like I really have to worry about parental permission.

"Sure." I said to her. "But I'd like to stop home, you know, get some clean clothes."

"Oh yea, sure of course." she said, taking a sip from her water bottle. At a stop sign I put on some music. Into You by Ariana Grande came on and Alex automatically started singing the lyrics. I sang along and as it got to the chorus we were shouting the words.

A little less conversation and a little more touch my body. Cuz I'm so into you, into you, into you.

I think the song's right. What I'm yelling with Alex is right. I am into her.
