I got to the turf early and said hello to the coaches. I was putting on my cleats standing up. I started tipping so I had to sit down to put them on.

I sat on the bench and zoned out. I wasn't focusing on anything until my vision cleared to see Kelley and Alex walking toward me. Kelley was running with Alex walking behind.

"Tobin! You were in jail!" she yelled. I put my finger over my mouth to tell her to be quiet. My lord.

"Please tell the world why don't you." I said huskily. I haven't gotten this high in a while. I've gotten really drunk but not really high.

Kelley came up to me and looked me in the eyes. She widened hers, and I could tell she was catching on.

"Tobin! Are you high right now?" she raised her voice again, I covered her mouth and looked to see if the coaches heard it. It didn't seem like it.

"Why would she be high right now." Alex's voice rang out. Yes, because I really needed judgement from little miss perfect. She won't even direct her words toward me.

"None of your business." I snapped. She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. I didn't want her to be here right now.

"It kind of is. You're my cap and my friend. What's been going on lately? You never reply to anything I send you until a day after." Kelley said to me. I let out a sigh. "Tobin, tell me."

"You want to know? Fine. How about the fact that my father has been abusing me for years and yet I came back to school every day pretending nothing was happening. Yea, I was in jail, that's because I finally defended myself and it got me in trouble. So what have I been doing for the past few years? Vaping and drinking because maybe, just maybe it will help with the pain." I said. She looked at me with a shocked expression.

"How come you never told me?" she asked quietly. I looked at her with burning eyes.

"Because I didn't know how. I didn't want you to look at me like you are now." I replied. She sat down next to me, Alex was still standing. She had no emotion on her face. "Don't act like nothing happened to you."

"Me?" she said while raising an eyebrow. I clenched my jaw. She said it in a 'are you talking to me' kind of tone.

"Yes you. I got you out. I fucking took a beating for you and you stand there like you know nothing about this." I said angrily at her. Kelley gave me a confused look. She turned from me to Alex a few times.

"You were a part of this?" Kelley asked Alex. She stared at me and then shifted her eyes to her. She gave a quick nod. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Oh I don't know, maybe because she was such a dick to me afterwards." she said, going back to staring at me. We had a stare down until someone walked up behind Kelley.

"Hey babe, Alex, Tobin... woah. Tobin? Your eyes are so red." Hope said, looking at me strangely. She looked around for an explanation.

"She's high right now. I think you should probably go. You look horrible." Kelley said. I probably did. If the coaches found out I'd be off the team.

"Go and I'll tell them that you got sick." Hope said. I'm glad she was willing to cover for me. I got up and almost lost my balance. "Just don't let this happen again."

"Thanks" I said. She nodded her head and sighed. Kelley pulled me in for a tight hug. I decided that I should walk to my car on the other side of where the coaches were.

Bedsides almost falling on my face after tripping over the curb, I made it to my car just fine. I drove to the park where they had told me to meet at yesterday.

I climbed up the large rocks and saw why they liked it here. It was like an advanced playground that was perfect for free running. I decided to try doing some flips.

I ate the ground hard for a while. I just couldn't seem to get the hang of it. I was about to give up when I heard her voice from below me.

"Did you try looking where you aren't supposed to land." Christen's voice came. I looked down to see her. How did she find me?

"No." I said confused. She climbed up the rocks and stood next to me. She looked into my eyes and saw the state I was in.

"Well no wonder you can't stick a landing." she said, causing me to give her a look of annoyance. She put her hands up in surrender. "Follow me."

She turned and took off. I chased after her on the rocks. We got to a patch where you had to jump from rock to rock unless you fell down to the ground. She jumped with ease, getting four rocks out.

"Jump." she said simply. Can't be that hard, right? I leapt from one to another to her easily. She kept going, the rocks spacing out more and more the father it went. I followed her until we got to a huge gap.

It seemed impossible. She walked back to the far edge of the platform and jumped across. It had to be like a 10 foot gap, I swear. I decided to give it a try.

I took off, my feet never hitting the other side. I smacked into the ledge and started slipping down. I hung on by my hand.

"Shit, Tobin." she said, coming over to me. My hand couldn't take it much longer. It was the one she gauzed up. My fingertips were losing strength.

     They finally gave out.
