jihoon inhaled, and nodded. he found himself standing in front of a small crowd of four, and fixed the mic. he looked through the selection of songs, and found one that he had liked.

the song started to play, and he had adjusted his mic. he wanted this to be good, he was a perfectionist after all. the lyrics gleamed on the tv screen, glowing in fluorescent pink color. jihoon's sweet voice filled the room with a sense of peace and calmness, making everyone feel at ease.

seokmin was shocked by jihoon's voice. he heard that he was a musical prodigy who had already been scouted by several companies, but declined all of them. jihoon simply sang for himself, whenever he felt like doing so.

to be able to hear jihoon sing was beyond a blessing, and he was thankful to have experienced it. seokmin knew that the rumors were true, all of them. jihoon did have an aura that was apparent. he also had a voice that people compared to honey, which contradicted with his ice cold personality.

jihoon let out a small sigh once he was finished singing, and heard the small cheers that they had given him. he nodded, and gave the mic to mingyu. he stood between seokmin and soonyoung, feeling tense. he was secretly happy that they hadn't made a big deal over his performance, he didn't need the same incident to happen again.

mingyu rapped to a song that jihoon didn't really know, and seungkwan had entered in late, making a dramatic entrance.

"you're late," soonyoung stated.

"no, you guys were just here early."

soonyoung smacked seungkwan in the head, and gave him the mic. seungkwan took it, giving him a small shove, and chose a piece from the latest musical.

jihoon looked at the time on his watch, and quickly gathered his things. he tightened his backpack's straps, and put his cap on. he hated how he had lost track of time, and knew that it would backlash on him. the others had asked him why he had been in a sudden rush, and realized it a few seconds later.

"my mom's going to kill me," jihoon groaned. "i'll see you guys tomorrow."

he bid farewell to his friends and new acquaintances, speed walking out of the band room. the sun had already been setting, and the sky would soon be dark. he didn't want to hear his mother complain how he was irresponsible, or how his dreams to become a musician were ridiculous.

it was ironic, he had always been supported at his performances, but they ridiculed him once he spoke about it professionally. she wanted him to be a lawyer, or a surgeon. he had no interest in that at all, it wasn't who he was.

he crossed the street, not aware of the boy who had been following him. he was too focused on being lectured by his mother, which was dangerous. he wasn't aware of his surroundings.

seokmin was worried about jihoon. he had left the room a minute after jihoon had done so, saying that he had to start working on a project. in all honesty, he wanted to make sure that jihoon was safe. although he was only an acquaintance of his, he couldn't help but feel as if he needed to make sure he was safe.

he was surprised when he found out that jihoon lived in the same neighborhood as him, living right in front of his own house. he'd never really been out though, and seokmin had always been with his friends some other place, so it would only make sense for them not to realize.

jihoon gulped, and unlocked the keys to the house, opening it and entering the house. he closed the door behind him casually, and mentally cussed when he saw his mother sitting on the couch.

"what were you doing outside this whole time?" his mother asked. "don't you know the rules of this house? you study after you hang out for a little bit, and stop to eat your food and sleep. what made you think that you could waste your time?"

jihoon kept a straight face, and stayed in the same spot that he had been in. "i lost track of time."

his mother stood up, and held onto his arm tightly. "you were doing that music stuff again, weren't you? it's ridiculous, jihoon. you'll never achieve your silly dreams. i'm disappointed in you, i only want the best for you. go to your room and study."

she let go of jihoon's arm, and watched as he walked upstairs. seokmin stood outside of his house, hearing how his mother had treated him. seokmin felt bad. jihoon was discouraged to do what he loved, which was the opposite of what he had. he couldn't believe what he had heard, despite the rumors that had been spread around.

he didn't know whether he should knock on the door and enter, or if he should just walk away. in the end, he chose to walk away, sulking on his way home.

his hands were in his pockets, earphones in his ears, blasting synthpop. his phone would ring with a notification every once in a while, but stopped once he arrived home. he opened the door, and shut it.

"i'm home."
no response.
just pure silence.
