Chapter 27:

"When are we gonna meet this boyfriend of yours?" Mom asks.

"I don't know, soon I guess." I say looking down at my nails as my face begins to heat up.

Ever since my birthday my feelings for Mason have tripled. This mate thing is no joke. It's like overboard on the love factor. Don't even get me started on everything else. I can smell his sent no matter where I'm at.

It smells like cinnamon and I can't get enough of it.

I'm pretty Iah and Ella have a thing for eachother. Especially Iah hes always trying to find a reason to be around her. It she acts like it annoys her but we all know that she likes it.

Then theres Elliot and Kalissa. I don't know what's happening with them but something is. Keith obviously knows a lot more byt he doesn't say anything.

"Athena." My mother says.

"Huh." I say.

"Are you listening to me?" She asks.

"No, sorry I kinda dazed out." I say.

"Yea I could tell, I said that I can see that you really like him." She says.

"How?" I ask.

"By the way you act at juat the mention of his name." She says and I laugh.

"I guess I do like him a lot, I might even-"

"Oh my god, my water just broke." My mother says and my eyes go wide.

"Uh okay, Dad!" I scream trying to help my mother up.

"What is it?" He asks.

"Her water broke." I say.

"Oh, okay, this is happening." He says pacing back and forth.

"Dad, bring her to the car." I say.

"Right, come on honey." He says grabbing my mothers hand from me and walking her out of the room and I follow behind.

Mason's POV:

"Dad said that we're gonna start school next week." Danny says.

"That's nice." I say texting Athena on my phone.

"Then I'm gonna sprout wings and fly." He says.

"Mhm." I say. "Wait what."

"Your not paying attention to me." He says.

"Sorry." I say.

"What's up with you and dad." Christian asks.

"Nothing." I say.

"Obviously something is up. You don't live in the pack house and when dad was trying to reach you when we showed up you didn't answer his calls." Danny says.

"What did he tell you guys?" I ask.

"He said that you guys just couldn't see eye to eye." He says.

"Oh, is that so." I say with a chuckle getting up and walking into the kitchen grabbing a water bottle and sitting at the counter.

"If that's not the reason, what is?" Christian asks.

"You know that ever since we where younger Nate liked you guys better." I say.

"I doubt t-"

"Don't argue because it's true." I say. "That day when the pack was attacked and mom died and you guys went missing he was left with his least favorite child."
