Elliot POV:

Chapter 8:

"Athena come over her for a second." I say to her.

"Yea?" She asks.

"On Tuesday, you tried out for cheerleading right?" I ask.

"Yea, why?" She questions.

"How were you able to do all those flips and stuff and you weren't even able to do a handstand before?" I ask.

"Uh, you know, practice." She says.

Lie.

"Practice." I say.

"Yep." She says.

"Okay." I say.

"Yea." She says.

"What up." Iah says walking up to me.

"What up." I say giving him a pound.

"Iah." Iah says putting his hand out for Athena to shake and she shakes it.

"Athena." Athena says.

"How old are you?" Iah says.

"Uh, sixteen." She says.

"Did you just turn sixteen this year?" He asks and I raise an eyebrow at him.

"Yea, a month ago." She says.

"Cool." He says.

"Uh yea, see you later Elliot, it was nice meeting you Iah." Athena says walking away.

"What was all that about?" I ask laughing.

"All what?" He questions.

"The questions and the way you introduced yourself to her it was, weird." I say.

"I don't know." He says.

Lie.

"Do you like her?" I ask.

"No, she's not my type." He says.

That was the truth.

"Really" I say curiously.

"Yes really." He says

He's the first person that I'm not able to break down whatevers going on in his mind. Him and Lucas.

I don't trust Lucas, I get a bad vibe off the guy. There's something off about him. I was always taught to follow my instincts.

"You still coming over after school today." Iah says.

"Hell yea, you keep talkin' that mess about how much better you are then me at 2K14 and I need to show you how wrong you are." I say.

"You mean how right I am." He says.

"Yea whatever, you won't be talkin' that mess when I beat you." I say.

"Sure." He says and I laugh.

Ella POV:

"What are you doing now?" I ask Athena.

"Cheer practice, tomorrows the game so they wanna get one last practice in." She says.

"Look at you Athena, little miss cheerleader." I say and she laughs.

"You must've practiced alot to get on the team, I remember last year you were..." I trail off.

"Terrible" Athena says.

"Yes, terrible." I say and we laugh.

"So earlier today I met the new kid, his names Iah." Athena says.
