Chapter 9
Becca hasn't been at the bar for the past four days. I've tried to get her number from Rachel but somehow she's on Beccas side during all of this. I've sat outside smoking after hours, waiting for her to show up but she never does.
Jason asks me what happened but I only give short answers. As in, she wanted to go home, got call from boyfriend. As I wait for her, I haven't had time to wrap my head around this all.
I'm more confused as I had been before she spent the night and I still don't understand why she left in such a storm.
Rachel tells me that Becca didn't want to be respected, that's why she was over. But I don't know why a girl wouldn't want to be respect by a guy, especially since it's sex. I also don't know why Rachel has become the expert over this when she's a girl that demands respect and loyalty. Rachel is a weird component to my story, a very bipolar human.
I've been able to put this weird situation behind me during the times of school and studying, but when the night creeps in and the air becomes silent, I think about her running out on me.
I've gone on a few jogs to clear my mind, worked out here and there, but nothing seems to dim my memory. Jason's taken me to the gym and we've boxed a few times, getting my anger out but again, nothing seemed to work.
My cadaver lab is cancelled today due to my teacher being sick or something, it really just means more work for me and more hours in the lab.
The weather is getting warmer, which means walking on campus is more enjoyable. With class cancelled, I take a longer walk around campus to my car. People start to leave buildings, letting me know the 3:15 classes are over.
I see her face, hidden behind a red hood around her head. She walks with her head down, moving swift, away from the buildings. "Becca!" I call out but no response.
I didn't think Becca went to classes, let alone college. She is always everywhere, but never on campus. She lives the free lifestyle, not letting anyone control what she does or where she goes, she would not go to school.
But I could be wrong. I was wrong about everything else about her. "Becca!" I walk faster, trying to catch up to the girl who once ran out of my place
She doesn't turn around, but she also doesn't stop for me. People stare at me for shouting at Becca, "Becca hey! I'm sorry" I admit
I catch up to her, grabbing onto her shoulder "listen Becca will you stop?"
She turns around and the hard demeanor on her face turns soft. Her make up is different, it's smooth and relaxed with calming features, "Becca, I'm sorry"
Becca takes her headphones out and a smile stretches on her face before a small laugh releases from her lips, "Becca, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for things to turn like that" I admit and she keeps laughing, "what is so funny?"
"You're looking for my sister, not me" she smiles with relaxed eyes, "sorry if she was a bitch to you, I get everyone coming to me instead of her to apologize" she giggles, "I guess it's my approachable demeanor"
"You're-not-" I stumble, staring at the same girl I had laid eyes on the very first time, I know what Becca looks like.
"I'm Taylor" she giggles, taking her hood off. Her blonde locks are short too, but there is no pink intertwined with the gold. There is no tattoo sitting on the back of her neck, nor the dark black earrings that relax around her face.
