Ch 17

Karen's pov

We pull up at the house where the party is at and from outside, the house looks like a mess. I can't imagine what the inside must look like. From the living room window you can see people playing beer pong.

"Siena I don't know about this." I start having second thoughts. I'm not the kind of girl who generally goes to parties.

"No you're going. You've already said yes and you're not going to change your mind now." She responds

"But look," I point at the house. "It looks way to crowed, I'm just going to stay in the car for a while." I pull my seat back.

"Karen it's summer. You need to have fun now because soon we'll be old and wrinkly." She makes a disgusted face.

She's right. I can't even fight with her but I still feel like this is a bad feeling.

"I hate that you're right," I say and she's smiles. "Let's go."

We both get out of the car and head inside. I still have a feeling that this is a bad idea and I try so hard to make it go away.

"You better not leave me alone!" I say to Siena and before I know it she's not anywhere in my site. Ugh great.

I start looking around and try to find somewhere to sit where it's quite. There are way to many people dancing, drinking, hooking up, but what else would you expect. And since apparently my best friend left me I'm going to the back yard where surprisingly, no one is there. I take a seat and feel the cool air touch my warm skin.

I'll probably stay here until the party is over.

"Karen?" A voice makes me jump and I see Jack.

"Oh hey Jack," I get up to give him a handshake. "What are you doing here?"

"My friend dragged me here even though I'm not the party type guy. And you?" He asks

"Me too," We both laugh. It's funny how alike we seem to be. 

"What's so funny?" Matt comes from inside of the house.

How did he find me here? What is he even doing here?

"Nothing Matt you can go," I dismiss him.

He does the opposite and hugs me from behind. Making me feel weak. No boy has ever done that and it feels good. I never want him to move. Omg what is happening?

"You can leave now." Matt dismisses Jack in a rude tone.

Jack looks at me for approval and I look at him with sorry eyes. He goes back inside the crowed party inside.

"Why did you do that?" I turn around and look at Matt.

"I had to do it Karen for you're own good. You're demons are getting closer you just don't see it. I'm just trying to protect you. I will keep you safe and being here isn't helping anything." His words touch my heart and I'm left speechless, staring at him.
