"Sekai welcome home" Queen mother says with a nod looking as prim and propper as usual. Grinning i adjust my strap on my shoulder as i walk off the ship being greeted by the royal family and guard. While she was a sweet and loving woman her eyes had been cold and dead since the loss of our king and (almost) death of her son. She became alot more protective and controlling of the environment and people around her.

"Thank you Queen Mother" i speak softly trying to keep eye contact thankful when T'challa speaks up.

"So glad youre back home. We appreciate the work youve done in California" he smiles widely at me Nakia clinging to his arm and nodding in agreeance.

"Although it looks like youve come home with more bags than you left with, ill get the servants to bring it to your room" she adds in with a teasing smile. Sharing a smile with Nakia my attention is quickly pulled from her.

"Ugh i cant sit through these formalities, SEKAI! In so glad youre home" Shuri beams runningg through the small group pulling me into a hug that i can relax into. I respected the formalities they tried to up keep but i grew up with them it was strange how they tried to be so formal.

"I missed you as well, I also have a suprise for you! Wheres okoye?" I ask pulling away slightly from her embrace and she nods behind her.

Okoye sends me a huge smile though shes in her Dora Milaje uniform i know she had "duties" to uphold and cant break appearances...but thats not me. Grinning i run to her wrapping my arms around her making her stumble slightly from her stance.

She drops her appearances unable to resist my hug and wraps her arms tightly around me. The smell of vanilla, her usual scent wafts up my nose and i close my eyes in happiness. It felt so good to be back home since her and i never fixed the terms we were on, but hugging her made me feel like everything went away.

"Wheres baba and our grandparents?" I ask suprised they werent here since they called every day sometimes twice a day. Okoye quickly explains that Baba was dealing with issues among our tribe and the mining tribe while our grandparents had retired early which meant they were down in Noir city helping around town.

To anyone else they would be offended their family wasnt welcoming them back after two months of being in an entirely different country in a completely different time zone but we showed love for another differently.

And i know for a fact theyd throw a big diner in Noir city where we can eat and catch up with one another.

Everyone disperses, bidding another a good day before heading back to their duties except for Shuri.

"Shuri, give Sekai a rest she just landed im sure she could use some sleep" Queen mother scolds and shuri visably deflates looking as if someone destroyed her lab but i interject.

"Actually i got alot of rest with the flight and time difference, besides im sure Shuri cant wait to tell me about all her new updates" i admitt and shuri instantly begins pulling me to behind her.

Walking through the halls of the palace i greet all the workers who greet me back with smiles and sweet words as the usually do. Adjusting the heavy book bag once more on my shoulder i tune back into shuris rambling to realize shes talking about her cousin.
