Annabelle's POV
______________My mother drove me to practice. "So, is there anything you want to tell me?" She asked. I hesitated. "Yea, remember Madeline Kilpeck?" I asked. "Oh, the one who killed your cousin five years back?" She said. "I remember. Why do you ask?" "Well, I heard from Shannon that she is playing in the Boston tournament." I said. "Wait, she's still alive?" She asked. "I'm afraid so." I said. "And we are playing her in one of the pool play games." "Wait, how do you know this?" She asked. "I kinda spied on Madi and her teammates." I said. "Really, that's rude." She said. "But thanks for letting me know. I can get your friends to come to Boston with us and we will see if Madeline really is on a team you are playing. I'll let you make the first move."
"But what if she knows it's me?" I asked. "Wouldn't she attack first? She's Madeline. She can suspect if anything was wrong to begin with. She's always trying to hide from me. It's not fair." "It's not like she's trying to apologize for what she did." My mother said. "No, she's not sorry." I said. "She killed my cousin. She needs to pay for what she's done. I have promised my cousin I would kill every last werewolf in my way and Madeline is definitely one of them. Not after I heard that Madi is in the same clan as Madeline. They will both die."
We then saw two heads look at us in the parking lot. We were still parked. But I made out their faces. "Madi and Laura." I said. "They know it's rude to eavesdrop." I just saw Madi's eyes turn yellow in anger. It seems she let me into her mind just to say something to me. 'Don't you ever talk about Madeline like that.' She thought. 'And I heard you outside. I'm not stupid. Just wait until you see Madeline again. She'll be psyched to see you. You know, she doesn't even want to fight you.' 'I'd like to hear it from her.' I said to her telepathically. 'But right now, I still want to kill her.' 'Okay, we have practice, so just drop it for the time being.' She thought. The connection broke.

Madi's POV
__________I was really angry at Annabelle. Now I know she hates Madeline's guts, but that doesn't mean she can talk shit about her. Laura and I walked to the dugout where we put on our metal cleats. We were gonna work on stealing bases and speed. I knew that Madeline had a cannon of an arm, as all catchers do. She told me about last year in Syracuse, New York, how she threw out six runners trying to attempt to steal on her. I hope I'm not one of them.
I walked out with my glove as Laura and I warmed up throwing. "Did you hear my internal fight with Annabelle?" I asked. "I heard it all." Laura said. "Some tough shit. It's like, what's her problem?" "I just hope Madeline throws her out for me." I said. "That would be awesome." "As if!" Annabelle said as she walked out with her glove. "She won't beat my speed." "Ok." Laura said. "She said she has thrown out players like you, so why even bring it up?" Annabelle hesitated. "You've only been coming to practice half of the time." I said. "Where is the dedication. Don't you want to beat Madeline?" "Well, yea if you put it that way." She said. "Then show some dedication to this team or we won't be acting like a team." I said.
"I'd rather get you guys out of my way first." Annabelle snarled. "Heh, yea, the coaches are protecting the battery." Laura said. "Nice try, shortstop." "And if you want to get Madeline out, then catch the ball at the base next time." I said. "Alright, girls." Coach Janelle said. "Catchers at home plate. Pitchers at the mound and shortstop, go to the base. Everyone else, running." Rachael walked to shortstop, I walked to the plate, and Laura walked to the mound. The next group was Lilly at home, Olivia at the mound, and Annabelle at shortstop.
The first group was doing pretty well. Rachel kept missing Lilly by a little. She just got under the tag. "Lilly!!" I called, laughing. "What?" Lilly said laughing. "I can't handle that." However when Annabelle ran, I fired the ball to Rachel and she put the tag on her. "Out!" Coach Janelle said. She screamed as I kept throwing her out every time.
Now it was my turn to run. Lilly was behind the plate, Olivia was on the mound, and Annabelle was at the base. As Olivia released the pitch, I took off. Lilly fired the ball down to Annabelle as I slid in. "Safe." The coach said. Annabelle scowled at me. "Okay, then pretend I'm Madeline." I said. "Alright?" "You'd be lucky." Annabelle whispered. "You'd be dead by now." I flipped her off when the coaches weren't looking.
As another pitch came in, I took off. However, when I slid in, Annabelle dove for me. I did a hook slide around the base and grabbed the base with my hand. "Got her." Annabelle said. Coach Janelle went to inspect the play. My hand was on the top of the base and she missed by an inch. "Safe." She said. "What?" Annabelle screamed. "Learn from it, kid." I said as I got up. "Because you're gonna get runners like that." She steamed.
Soon, practice ended. I promised I would Skype Madeline and Allie when they were done with their practice. Laura and I walked to the car and we drove to my house. Well, we practically live together as sisters since my foster mother died. We arrived at my house at 6:00. That was the time that Madeline and Allie had their practice. We waited.
