Rachel's POV
___________I was walking with Lilly in Castine Center. "How did Madi do singing with Madeline?" I asked. "She told me all good things." Lilly said. "When are you meeting with Madeline?" "Tonight." I said. "Make that three hours tops." "Tell me about the experience." She said. "Where's Laura?" I asked. "She wants to get homework done early." She said. "Me, I already know what I'm doing for junior year." "I already did my summer enrichment for my junior year at Bangor." I said. "I'm pretty much all set."
We walked down on the docks. We saw a man putting up flyers. We walked up to get a closer look. "ChrisK 5k, huh?" I said. "Yea, we do that a lot in Penobscot." Lilly said. "I don't run though. I help out with fundraising and everything. Laura and Madi help me." "In memorial of Christine Kilpeck." I read. "Kilpeck... No way." "What?" She asked. "Madeline Kilpeck." I said, but a bit louder. The man putting putting up the flyers turned in our direction.
"Excuse me girls." The man said. "You know my granddaughter?" "I kind of do." Lilly said. "I help out at the race every year selling shirts." "Oh, I remember, but how do you know her?" He asked. "So, Madeline is still on Lady Sting, right?" Lilly asked. "Yes." The man said. "Yea, we play against her in softball." She said. "We are playing against her team in Boston next weekend. Her father will give you the schedule, I'm sure. She's singing with two people from Penobscot and Rachel, right here." "Who are the two in Penobscot?" He asked.
"Madison Treble and Jason Bernard." Lilly said. The man stopped in his tracks. "They know my granddaughter." He said. "How?" "She kinda found Madi's social media and messaged her." she said. "And then, Madeline called us on Madison's Skype." "I will let my son know that I'll be going to Boston next week to watch the tournament." He said. "And I wish both teams good luck. Which club team are you girls on?" "Lady Blaze." I said. "Look for black and orange jerseys." I showed him a picture of my jersey.
"That looks like Madeline's town jersey." He said. "I'll keep Madeline's town jersey in mind. Thank you girls." "You're welcome, Mr. Kilpeck." I said. "I'll see you, Laura, and Madison at the race this year." He said to Lilly. "And it's nice to meet you, Rachel." He said to me. He walked away to put up flyers.
I looked at my phone. It was 5:00. "I got to go, Lilly." I said. "I'll be back on Wednesday." "Alright." Lilly said. "Let Madi and me know how it goes. And tell me what song you guys are doing." "Alright, I will." I said. I texted Madeline.
...
Rachel: Hey, Madeline. On my way. I'll be here any minute.
...
Madeline: Ok. I'll be in my room at the piano if you need to find me.
...
She texted me her address. I waved and snapped my fingers. Lilly waved back as ice particles surrounded me and then everything went black.

Madeline's POV
_____________My door was closed as I finally had a good instrumental for my original on the piano. I've been also working on the recordings from "YouTube" and "Smule Sing!" Soon, I heard something, which made me turn around. "Rachel?" I called. "Madeline?" She called back. "I'll be right there." I called. I walked into the kitchen and I saw a girl with blonde hair and a blue ombré starting with dark blue and lightening up toward the ends. "Hey, welcome to the Kilpeck residence." I said. "My mother is packing for Oklahoma upstairs. Wanna start the singing tomorrow?" "Yea," Rachel said. "I'm looking forward to singing with you." "Me too." I said. "Here, dinner is just about finished. Want pork?" "Yes please." She said.
Soon, my mother came down. "Hello girls." She said. "Hi Mrs. Kilpeck." Rachel said. "Please, call me Sherry." My mother said. "I hope you girls have fun. Maddie and I went shopping all day today for food to eat for two weeks. And I got you a couple hundred for any food we forgot to buy. Because some stores are very expensive here in Massachusetts." "Thanks mom." I said. "Oh and Rachel, wanna help me clean the basement for all of us to sleep while all you guys are over here?" "Yea." Rachel said. "Nice meeting you Sherry." We walked downstairs. "Oh, God." I said. "I haven't cleaned this basement in so long. My arachnophobia is suddenly kicking in." "You're afraid of spiders?" Rachel asked, giggling. "Shush." I said, giggling. "I'm not judging, but vampires love them." Rachel said. "I'm not one though." What about Madi?" I asked. "Oh, good point." Rachel said. "You know, everything will be easier with this." She snapped her fingers and her ice repaired the walls and cleared the cobwebs. She put seven rolled up sleeping bags on the couch. "Then here's me." I said, laughing. "You'll get used to it." She said.
...current time - 8:30 am Monday...
I woke up at the same time as Rachel. "My mother probably left." I said. "I don't hear her either." Rachel said. We both walked out of my room and looked outside. No vehicles were there. "Yup, she left." I said. We had breakfast and walked back into my room. "Ready for vocal warm ups?" I asked. She nodded. I opened a video of the vocal warm ups from concert choir. We both were laughing at the different warm ups. Mr. Kidd was funny as he always is. After warm ups, I pulled up Smule and opened an instrumental of our song. I started a duet, but I didn't sing. It was for a solo. "So, you ready for our song?" I asked. "Yeah, what song are we gonna do?" She asked. "Fight Song." I said. I clicked play.
