CHAPTER 10: Meaning?

Lexi's POV

I was in a meadow surrounded by forest with Shadow. We were by a small passage of water holding hands and we were watching something.

I could hear a little boy laughing in front of us but I couldn' really see him. "Momma, daddy!" I heard the little boy. Then he came into view as he ran up to me and Shadow. He hugged us and I could feel in my heart that I was full of happiness.

The little boy was around 2 years old. He then rubbed my belly. I looked down and I realized that I was pregnant.

Shadow stared at me with a look of pure joy and love. He also rubbed my tummy and I felt the sparks that I felt since the first time he saw me.

Then I felt a pain in my chest were my heart should be if my heart was beating. I looked at Shadow and he looked angry and full of hatred at something.

I took in my surroundings and saw that the scenery was just plain blackness and the little boy was gone. I felt tears starting to escape my eyes. I looked down at my belly to only find that I was no longer pregnant. I let the tears fall down.

I heard laughing, evil laughing. I turned to what Shadow was looking at and found Alec, my father. "NO! You will not be together and I will make sure of it!" He said. At that I clung on to Shadows arm. "You can NOT take him away from me!" I yelled at him tears pouring down my face. He chuckled. "Oh really? Watch me!"

I saw two different scenes before me. Alec dead with Shadow standing over him with a long sword stained with Alec's blood. Then the second part was Shadow died with Alec standing over him with the same sword stained with Shadow's blood.

At that scene I scream with all my might both from heartache and physical pain. "

NOOOOO!

"I woke up screaming the same word as in my dream. Then my door burst open and Alex came in, in his vampire state. "WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? WHAT'S WRONG, LEXI?" He said.

I was crying my eyes out and Alex came to sit next to me. He was back in his human form. I didn't want to tell him anything so I lied. "Nothing Alex, it was just a bad dream about you and Ella breaking up." I said. "Yeah, well thanks for that" He said rolling his eyes. "Go back to sleep okay. Everything is fine." I reassured him. He gave me a 'are you for real' look but left non the less.I knew I wouldn't fall asleep again.

I looked out my window and the sun was barely visible so I assume it was around 5 or 6 in the morning. That's good for me because I at least finished getting my last hours of sleep. Vampires only need 24 hours of sleep every 3 weeks.

I sighed. What would Shadow think about my dream when I tell him tomorrow? Should I even tell him? I sighed again.Well, I should start to get ready for when Shadow comes to get me in a couple of hours.

I went down to the kitchen and made myself some human food. Eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, and coffee. I made some for Alex too and left it covered up on the table. Alex had went back to sleep and still wasn't up. It was probably around 7 or 7:30 in the morning. That's usually the time we both get up but I think he hasn't finished his 24 hours. I shrugged and went up to my room. I walked into my closet, yes it's a walk-in, and I was looking for what I should wear.

Finally I settled on a simple black t-shirt and black skinny jeans. I took my clothes and my towel to the bathroom. I got in the tub and turned the water so that it was almost boiling hot. I couldn't feel all of the warmth of the water because my skin is deathly cold. The water felt luke-warm to me. I felt like the stress washed off of my body. After about a whole hour I got out and changed into the clothes I picked out. I let my hair down because I wanted it in it's nature curliness.
