CHAPTER 18: Baby Taven

Lexi's POV

I just hope that when we return, Drake and Alex don't start fighting. We were just at the edge of  the forest to leave the pack houses when all of a sudden I felt something climbing up my leg. "I was about to scream out but stopped myself because I had seen that it was baby Taven that was climbing up my leg.

"Auntie Love you weren't going to leave without saying good bye were you?" He asked me when I had picked him up and placed him on my hip. Shadow came up to me and whispered in my ear, "Love should you be carrying him like that?" I just shook my head at him and returned my attention to Taven.

"Of course I wasn't, I just didn't see you." I said. He had watery eyes and I assumed that he was going to cry. "Don't cry baby Taven. Listen I need you to do something for me while I am away." I told him and his eyes brightened up. He started to wiggle out of my grip so I put him back on the floor.

"Anything for you Alpha Auntie Love. You can count on me." He said and saluted me like a true warrior. I giggled then bend down to his eye level. "I want you to be the one to teach the other young wolves how to defend themselves. Ask the elders like the beta and then teach the other kids how. Can you do that?" I asked him. "Yes Alpha. When you come back, you will have a new generation of warrior wolves." He answered and with that he waved to the other three and ran back. I watched for a little and saw that he already had the youngest of the wolves in a circle. I giggled and felt Shadow put his arms around my waist. "You will be a great Alpha to our pack." He whispered in my ear and kissed me in the cheek. I sighed and turned to leave into the forest.

Shadow's POV

I looked at her with baby Taven and I could just imagine her with our kids. She will be a great mother and a great mate.

"Hey Shadow you have the plant don't you?" Ella asked interrupting my thought's. "Yeah I do."  I reassured her. "Cool. Let's get on with it then." And with that I went to get Lexi to leave.

Alex's POV

"Here. This should be around your guy's neck at all times. That is what my momma said and everything she says is try so..." Ella said to us handing over the pouches. "Thanks." We all said to her.

"So Lexi what did you tell Baby Taven?" I asked Lexi. "Well, I told TAven that he should train the young wolves in order to prepare them so that by the time we come back, we will have new fighters." She answered me with a smile.

"That is such a good idea sis. The sooner the better. Hey do you think they know about mates yet." I asked. "I don't think so. I think they are to young but I could be wrong. You guys have seen Taven, he is very smart for his young age. He might even have already found his mate but he doesn't know what those feelings are." Shadow answered and it got me thinking of something.

"Ella, what about Drake? Will he ever find his mate?" I asked her. "Um why do you even want to talk about him. Just a few minutes ago you were trying to rip his head off!" She told me. "I am just curious that is all." I answered her and it was the truth. She looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "Well, werewolves only have mate's with other supernaturals. Either his mate is a vampire or his mate has not been born yet." She answered me.

This whole mate thing is so complicated. Vampire mate's can be anybody, even humans. "Okay enough of this mate talk. Were do we go?" I asked. "Well our first stop is about a 3 day's walk from here." Ella answered. "Well lets get to it!" I said and started to walk ahead of the other three.
