*Next Day*

"Hey Sarah, give me three caramel mochas and one chocolate cake. To go," I told Sarah as the customer waited for his order. He put a five dollar bill in the tips jar and smiled at him.

"There you go." Sarah gave me the bag of order and I gave it to the guy.

"Thank you," he said.

"Have a good day," I called as he walked out of the place. The place today was oddly crowded. We'd never had customers in that amount before. I could barely catch my breath since a new customer would approach me every few seconds. "Welcome to Starbucks. Can I take your order?" I asked, smiling widely at the old woman in front of me.

"Can I get a cup of coffee please?" she asked politely and I typed the order in.

"That'll be two dollars and thirty cents ma'am," I said and she gave me the money. "Thank you. Sarah, one coffee please." I waited about four minutes till Sarah gave me the coffee. "Here it is," I handed the woman her drink and she smiled and walked over to a table. "God, this is so tiring! When did we have many customers like that?" I sighed and looked at Sarah.

"Well, we never did. Today's unusual to us," she said and leaned to the counter. I wiped the drink that spilled on the counter earlier today and looked at my wristwatch.

"Thank God my shift will end in ten minutes," I mumbled. I groaned as I heard the bell ring, which meant that there was another customer.

I looked up and saw Nathan walking my way, so I smiled. I didn't have to deal with some customer I didn't know. I wasn't in a mood of dealing with anyone snobby or mean. "Hey," I said as Nathan reached me.

"Hi," he said and smiled

I asked, "The usual?"

But he shook his head. "No. I wanna try something else today." He surprised me with his words, because he ordered the same drink everyday since he first came here. What made him change his mind out of a sudden?

"Uhm okay. What do you want?" I asked.

"Uh, what do you like?" he asked, tilting his head to the side in the most adorable way.

You can hold yourself together, Natalie.

I told him cappucino was good, so he nodded and ordered one. I took the money from him and told Sarah the order. "So, got any plans for today?" I asked curiously.

"Not really," he said as I gave him his cappuccino.

"How about we do something?" I suggested, causing him to smile.

"Sure! But where?"

" We'll talk when my shift's over."

He nodded, then walked to an empty table.

"Seems that you are closer than before," Sarah said and wiggled her eyebrows at me.

"Oh, shut up. You know that we've become friends." I chuckled and took my apron off. I was finally done. I hung my apron and wore my same old black coat over my purple buttoned-up shirt. "I'll see you tomorrow. Bye."

I hugged Sarah as she said, "Take care."

I walked up to Nathan and said, "I'm done," as he was sipping into his drink.

He looked up at me and said, "Hold on". He gulped all of his drink at once and stood up. "Let's go." He threw the cup in the trashcan and we walked out to the street.
