Our lips moving together felt better than I had imagined. There was so much eager, pent-up passion, I felt like we were both going to explode. I couldn't get enough of her. My hand on the back of her neck tightened, drawing her in even closer. My other hand found the small of her back. Perfection.
Vienna kissed me. She wanted me. And fuck, I wanted her too. Although at the back of my mind I knew I shouldn't be kissing somebody else's girlfriend. And the image of Emily kept on popping in and out of my head. I should not be doing this.
Our lips were moving together with a near-frenzied intensity. I made sure my kisses were gentle, so I won't cause any pain to her busted lip but Vienna seemed impatient. Her tongue brushed mine, searching and teasing. I groaned, needing more. My fingers roamed to her sides, finding their way into her shirt when the hotel room door was being pushed open. Fuck!
"Did someone smoke pot in here?"
Vienna instantly released herself from me. I was gasping for air. So was she. What did we just do?
I realized at that very moment that I have crossed the line. My eyes were still closed and I was afraid to open them. I knew things would never be the same between Vienna and I. Vienna barely moved. Her breaths began to steady as I slowly moved away from her, still avoiding eye contact.
Vienna quickly straightened next to me, like she had a realization that what she doing was wrong herself. Her cheeks were bright red and I could feel mine matching hers.
"There you are!" Mike said, after he found Vienna and I at the balcony. I was glad that he didn't walk in on us while we were all over each other. Mike studied the both of us for a while. He had a knowing look on his face and I'd hate for him to know what had happened between Vienna and I.
"You two okay then?" Mike asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Yeah. Absolutely," Vienna quickly answered.
"Yeah, mate. Just having a smoke and what not," I added.
"Hmm. I could smell that. Well, I brought food. In case you guys are hungry," he said.
"That's brilliant! Thank you," Vienna scoffed, avoiding eye contact with me as she got up, brushing the back of her pants. "But I need to shower first. You two go ahead."
Vienna and I never really talked about what happened after that. Or the day after. And the week after. I wasn't sure about her, but I sure was developing a strange feeling towards her. It was not like love or anything like that, but, I just always felt strange if I didn't get to know what she was up to, even when we were always together with the band and the rest of the crew. It was just so confusing really.
Vienna acted like nothing had happened, although I noticed that she was distancing herself from me, a bit. We talked like how we normally would but she would always avoid being alone with me. That's understandable, I guess.
We were back to touring the following week and we had flown out from LA to Vancouver for a gig at a venue called The Electric Owl. It was the longest day ever since we had to do a number of interviews and radio performances prior the gig itself, but I was glad to be back on tour. It sort of helped me to get my mind off of Emily.
The crowd at Electric Owl really blew me away. They knew every single word to our song, which was insane and amazing at the same time. The band, especially Bob couldn't shut up about it and I was feeling really good after the gig that night.
Just like our usual post-gig rituals, we all headed to a bar near the venue that night. There were some fans roaming inside and we did chatted with some over beers. Vienna was sitting in a booth with Mike and Dan when I caught her eyeing me. I looked at her, nodded and gave her my warmest smile. She turned instantly red when I did that, which I thought was rather cute. I excuse myself from the fans and walked over to join Vienna at the booth.
