The bell rang at 7:00 and everyone piled into the mess hall for dinner. Sophie and Diego sat in a small booth in the corner of the mess hall.
"So then, BOOM! We beat the other team!" Sophie exclaimed to Diego.
"Cool! I always have been fascinated by sports but never played them," Diego admitted.
"Hey, Sophie. Hey, Diego," Sawyer said as he forced Sophie to scoot over.
"Hey, Sawyer, nice to see you. What are you doing here?" Sophie asked through clenched teeth.
"Just checking on my favorite people. By the way, I think someone is flushing down your guitar in the boys' bathroom," Sawyer remarked to Diego.
"Oh no," Diego said as he got up.
"Hey Sawyer, I feel bad for not sitting next to you during lunch, I'm sorry," Sophie apologized.
"It's fine, it's all good," Sawyer replied.
"Good, now leave me alone," Sophie said, shooing him away.
"Ok, fine by me," Sawyer responded as he got up.
He caught Clyde's eyes and Vivian's eyes. They were motioning him to keep sitting next to Sophie.
"Never mind," Sawyer said as he forced Sophie to scoot over again.
"Turns out it's someone else's guitar, it's all good," Diego said as he sat back down.
"So, Sawyer, would you get us some food?" Sophie asked.
"It's too much for me, Diego and I will go together," Sawyer said as he stood up and beckoned Diego to go with him.
"What does Sophie like?" Diego asked Sawyer as they were picking out food.
"She loves Brussels sprouts, lots of them," Sawyer lied as he piled them on Diego's plate.
"But no one likes Brussels sprouts," Diego remarked.
"Guess Sophie is different," Sawyer replied.
"I know, that's what I like about her. Her unique personality, her idea of fun--" Diego started to say.
"No, she's a normal person and she likes pickles," Sawyer said, piling pickles on Diego's plate.
Diego struggled to hold his plate.
"You know what? That's enough," Diego said.
Diego and Sawyer headed back to their booth.
"Aww, Diego, you got my favorite, pickle," Sophie said, "And Brussels sprouts," Sophie said as she made a disgust face.
"So where's my plate, Sawyer?" Diego asked.
Sawyer looked up to face Diego with spaghetti coming out of his mouth.
"I was supposed to get stuff for you? I thought we were supposed to get our own things," Sawyer said.
"Ugh!" Diego replied as he threw up his hands and went back to the food table.
After an hour of dinner, they had one hour of free time until the campfire.
"What do you want to do?" Sophie asked Diego.
Diego shrugged. Next thing you know, Sawyer walked between them and said,
"Let's play dodgeball."
"Fine by me," Diego replied.
Everyone got into their places. Vivian, Sawyer, and Diego were a team while Clyde and Sophie were the other team.
"Ready, set, and fire!" Jason announced.
Clyde immediately got Diego out and Vivian had gotten Sophie out. Clyde, Vivian, and Sawyer were still battling each other.
"Well, we're out," Diego said to Sophie as they sat down.
"Yeah, it sucks playing on different teams," Sophie replied.
"Let's just go," Diego suggested.
"I would like that," Sophie agreed.
The both of them ditched the game.
"STOP!" Vivian screamed.
Clyde and Sawyer looked at her with confusion.
"Where's Diego and Sophie?" Vivian asked, pointing to the empty benches.
"Oh no, we lost Dophie!" Clyde added.
"We're supposed to be tearing them apart, not giving them ship names!" Vivian exclaimed.
"Let's just take a break for tonight, tomorrow we'll work extra hard," Sawyer said.
The bell rung for the campfire. They all sat down.
"We light this campfire in memory of our second day!" Brown exclaimed as the campfire lit up.
"Performance! Performance! Performance!" The students all chanted.
"Calm down, campers. We have a special performer, Matthew Hayes!" Mitchie announced.
"Hi, I'm Matthew. This is a song I wrote by myself, so don't judge," Matthew introduced as he began singing his song,"Tonight I see you over there, you're looking perfect with your hair. I'm starting to think that we could be, yeah. So, I want to know, who do you like and who do you despise? I'll get rid off the enemies for you. Cause we're just that way.
If I was born yesterday, I would have never met you. I thank the lucky stars every day that I was born way before. If I never walked on this ground, you wouldn't be anywhere to found. So, let's celebrate, that we're together, aye.
Tomorrow, I hope I can see that beautiful smile. The one that make me go an extra mile. I'm starting to think we're made to be, I swear. So let's start out slow, we don't have to hurry, but I'll be there if all you can see is blurry. Cause we're just that way.
If I was born yesterday, I would have never met you. I thank the lucky stars every day that I was born way before. If I never walked on this ground, you wouldn't be anywhere to found. So, let's celebrate, that we're together, aye."
Everyone cheered and clapped. (Which song did you guys like better? Diego's or Matthew's)
"What a performance!" Shane exclaimed.
"It's bedtime now, so get a good night's sleep!" Jason added.
Everyone rushed back to their cabins and immediately fell asleep fast.
