It was their official first day of camp. Sophie rolled herself out of bed to discover the whole group was already awake.
"Well, I woke up to discover you never cleaned the cabin at all!" Natalie complained.
"Well, I don't care about cleanness or you," Sophie said as she put on her headphones and walked to the bathroom.
"Rise and shine, campers! Today, we are doing team-building activities to meet each other," Caitlyn announced.
"I don't want to meet Natalie again," Sophie remarked.
"We're not meeting each other, we have all summer to do so. We're meeting the cabin across from us," Caitlyn explained.
Sophie nodded and wiped her face, then she realized, it was Cabin Sharks.
"No!" She exclaimed to herself.
The bell rung for breakfast, and everyone piled into the mess hall.
Sophie sat with Sawyer who was at the far corner.
"The food doesn't taste like food at all," Sophie remarked.
"Doesn't look like it either," Sawyer said as he flipped his bowl over and his soup didn't come out.
"Gross, they should get a better caterer," Sophie said as she pushed her food away.
"Alright, alright, alright! The counselors and I have talked. The assigned cabins for the Meet-and-Greet are Cabin Lotus and Cabin Sharks, Cabin Music and Cabin Stars, Cabin Cheetahs and Cabin Bears," Brown announced.
Sophie groaned. "Clyde."
"Yeah, you're right. He's a terrible counselor," Sawyer said.
Sophie's eyes widened and she asked, "Why, what did he do?"
"He didn't assign chores, he doesn't care if our cabin gets dirty," Sawyer explained.
"Uh huh, ok thanks," Sophie said as she drank her fruit punch.
"What is it? Is this even a type of meat??" Sawyer complained as he poked a brown object on his plate.
The bell rang for the first activity, the Meet-N-Greet.
"Ok, Sharks and Lotuses, find someone and discover something new!" Caitlyn announced and everyone started scrambling.
Sophie knew what she had to do. Find Sawyer.
"Sawyer!" Sophie exclaimed.
"Hi, Sophie, aren't you supposed to find someone?" Sawyer asked.
"There were no rules that I can't partner up with someone that I know," Sophie replied.
"Ok, fine by me," Sawyer said as he shrugged.
"Sawyer, isn't it?" Caitlyn asked as she walked over to Sawyer.
"Yeah, why?" Sawyer asked.
"You both know each other, go find someone new," Caitlyn remarked and she walked back to where she was sitting.
Sophie groaned as she waved bye to Sawyer. Sophie's natural instinct was to...well...run far away from Clyde. She took off running but then heard a voice behind her.
"Can't escape me," Clyde said as he smirked.
"Clyde, yay," Sophie replied sarcastically.
"So Sophie, what's----" Clyde started to say but Sophie cut him off.
"Nothing is new, I still hate you," Sophie said.
"I was not going to ask that," Clyde lied.
Sophie raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I was totally going to ask that," Clyde responded.
"Meet-N-Greet is over, I hope you met someone new. Return to your cabins and your counselor will redirect you to your next activity," Caitlyn said through a megaphone.
