namjoon's point of view

Sitting beside the blonde boy, I could barely breathe staring down at the immense injuries that were covering him from head to toe. His airways were clear and his heart beat was still strong, but his body lay completely still, eyes rolled back so that just the whites of his eyes could be seen. I placed what pressure I could on one of his open wounds to prevent any further blood loss.

"I need a paramedic over here!" I called out as I pressed on an open wound on his neck. Within seconds a women appeared by my side, dropping a kit and taking over so that I could step away, taking in a shuddering breath.

"You don't mind helping?" She murmured, beginning to tie a tourniquet around one of the boy's legs to prevent further blood loss from his thigh.

Please no.

"No, it's fine." I knelt down, proceeding to do what she told to do, handing her equipment and sometimes having to press on a wound. I hated these kinds of things but this situation was different. This person was important to Jungkook. The way he had kissed him was affection I had never seen Jungkook show. So I put aside my own squeamish fears.

"Ok! We need a stretcher over here!" The paramedic called finally, getting her hands under Taehyung's body. She nodded for me to do the same, though I got the feeling she probably wouldn't need my help. "Keep his spine straight. One, two, three." On three we both lifted him onto the stretcher. Then he was secured in place and taken away. I sat down on the ground, looking towards the wreckage. Jungkook wasn't in my sight from here, I hoped he was safe. "You alright?" I looked up, seeing the paramedic had stayed.

"Ah, yeah. He was ... familiar to me, that's all." She nodded sadly, resting her hand on my shoulder.

"He looked bad, but he should be fine if he gets treatment immediately. No vital areas were damaged." The news was reassuring and it brought hope to me. "I have to go help out some more. So maybe I'll see you around." She flashed a smile before turning to leave. "You need to get your friend out if there, those cars could blow up any second." That brought me back to the present moment, realisation crushing down as I scrambled to my feet and looked over to where Jungkook was. It was difficult to see him, curled up between two cars, eyes shut as he looked like he was paralysed. I couldn't imagine the terror he was feeling. But that emotion needed to wait until he was safe.

"Jungkook!" I yelled, making my way through the path as I continued calling until I got his attention after a few tries. He lifted his head, his expression empty. It broke my heart. I went to step closer, but a hand pulled me back. I turned to see another one of my coworkers, eyes filled with grief as he shook his head and tried pulling me again. "No!" I growled, trying to tear him off of me. "I need to get to him!"

"Sir! You step any closer and it'll be two casualties, you can't go!" I glared at the other officer, tearing his hand off of me so I could try to surge forward.

"Get over here!" I ordered toward the younger boy. But his eyes were closed and he seemed to completely disconnect from reality, body collapsing as his head fell to the ground and he lay still. "Jeon Jungkook! Wake up! Get away from there now!" Other's began to order people to back up from the collision, that same officer pulling on my shoulder as thick grey smoke filled the air. I coughed through the smog, losing sight of the boy now unconscious in the wreckage. All I could do was scream, managing to escape the hold as I ran into the smoke, searching through in hopes go find the boy. "Jungkook please!" My throat felt like it would burn up with the smoke filling my lungs and vocal chords torn apart with worry.

I was unsure of what happened next. Heavy sounds burst my ear drums, a distant feeling of someone pulling me away. Then everything suddenly got very hot, and a bright and colourful explosion lit up the grey area. The force of the explosion sent me and my saviour flying backwards, and I felt the surface of my body burn with a searing pain that sent a scream that I felt in every nerve. It was impossible for me to even cry, tears evaporating and everything being scorched by the heat.

Unable to move, I laid beside the paramedic who had grabbed onto me, coughing up smoke and laying still as the pain of heat burns spread across my skin. Slowly the brightness of the fire died down, revealing every car within ten metres of the reactant engulfed in flames. Including one that made my heart break.

"Jungkook..." I cried. Unable to raise my voice any higher than a whisper. "I'm sorry."
