third person point of view
It wasn't something any of the four had imagined hearing. Nothing any of them had ever thought would happen. It was like a nightmare. One so incredibly unrealistic, you can say to yourself.
This isn't real.
But it's when these nightmares become reality that hope finally fails.

The tension in the house was heavy, every one huddled on the couch around the phone sharing live updates that Namjoon was able to provide them. It had all happened so quickly, Jungkook running out, Namjoon getting called in, then the update about Taehyung. A nerve of simultaneous fear and fury rushed through Jimin as he immediately searched through his bathroom to confirm his fears, finding an empty place where his old pain medication used to be.
Now they all sat in silence, unable to do anything but wait. Jimin was restless, fingers clawing into his knee as he thought about what he would do if they were to lose any of the three. As much as he despised Taehyung, he knew the boy did not deserve death in this way. Not to mention it would break Jungkook, he couldn't imagine having that link from the curse, only for it to be harshly severed by Taehyung's death. Though it did raise the question, could Taehyung even die?
"They should update soon, it's been half an hour since the last update," Hoseok groaned, head falling to the back of the couch as he tapped his foot in anxious wait. "It will be okay, we just have to have hope that they will be-
"Namjoon's calling!" Yoongi yelled, catching everyone's attention. They tore their attention away from Jimin's phone providing updates from the station. Instead focusing on Yoongi as he picked up his phone. "Hello?" His smile once on his face faded as he spoke with the caller. "What happened?" Silence. "And Jungkook?" After the question Yoongi's eyes went dull and his hands began to shake. "O- okay. We ... we will see you soon..." Jimin watched curiously, he had never heard Yoongi stutter in his life. It all started after the mention of Jungkook. When Yoongi put the phone down, he let his head rest in his hands, and silenced the rest of the room when he let out a strangled sob.
"Yoongi? What happened?" Jimin asked quietly, shuffling over to the older and wrapping his arm around him.
"Did they find Taehyung?" Hoseok asked, not really helping much. Yoongi gave a slight nod but didn't lift his head. "Is he alright?" Again a nod. That left Jungkook and Namjoon.
Jimin turned his focus back to the phone call, listening as a crackling voice echoed through the phone
"There's been an escalation, as many as possible were evacuated from the area," that tension continued to build, the voice of a stranger and Yoongi sobbing as the three were paralysed in dread. "There have been 34 counted injuries, and one fatality." The room was silent other than the officer explaining some details about the crash, none that mattered to the three now waiting for the confirmation that Yoongi couldn't seem to utter.
"Yoongs, is Namjoon okay?" The boy was barely able to nod, body shaking as he released heart wrenching cries. "Jungkook?" Hoseok asked, voice lower than a whisper, the words didn't need to be spoken, but the three waited for the truth to be solidified to drain any remaining hope they had left.
"Jungkook..." Yoongi croaked through a desperate cry, making the terrifying reality in everyone's heads certain. It was as if the world froze when he uttered the two words no one ever wanted to hear. "Is dead."
