"Are you ready, love?" Luke asked, squeezing calums hand.

Calum nodded nervously, and walked inside the building. him and Luke were going to come out to their managment today.

the brunet didn't really know what he had to worry about. management has always been nice to them. both of the boys knew everything would go okay.

correction; they thought everything would go okay. it didn't. at all.

"okay boys, I'm sorry I have to break this news to you, but this," the leader of their management team Alan gestured to the two boys, "can't happen."

Calum had a deep frown on his face while Luke gripped his hand tightly. Luke felt betrayed, like someone ripped out his heart and stepped on it.

"you see, your fan base is made up of mainly girls....young, hormonal, naive, girls who have crazy fantasies about wanting to marry you boys. if you were to come out as gay, then those fantasies would be crushed that means less money, and less publicity." Alan stated, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning back in his seat.

"but, if you all dated girls, that would give you all more publicity. it would make them jealous and just make them want you more. believe me, I know about girls."(honestly no but ok) and Calum and Luke didn't understand this one bit.

what they did understand, was that they weren't allowed to date and that was fucked up. why would you keep two people who love each other apart? what human being in their right mind would do that?

"yeah but the fans already ship us! they think we're cute together and think it's real anyway." and maybe Calum shouldn't have said that.

Alan looked over at Jenny, his assistant, and nodded his head. she nodded back and scurried back to her desk. Calum and Luke didn't know what that meant.

"well, if they think you all are a thing that's not good then. Luke, we're hiring you a beard." Luke cocked an eyebrow at the older man.

"uh, a what?" Luke said leaning forward in his chair a little bit.

"of course there is different definitions, but the one we're talking about is like a fake girlfriend/boyfriend, obviously girlfriend in this case, that will hide that you are gay. you will be forced to go out on dates with this woman, kiss her in public, and act like a couple for publicity. if not, I will rip up your contract and both of you can say goodbye to 5 Seconds of Summer."

"slightly balding thirty year old who still lives in his mom's basement say what now?" Calum said, tears almost leaving his eyes no,matter how hard he tried to keep them in.
