Today has been great. Just me and my family for once. We went to an amusement park, then roller skating and dinner. The amusement park was hakeems idea of course. His brothers and their dates just road all the rides while me and Lu watched the stuff and talked about pointless things. Roller skating though was me and Lu's idea. We used to be so good at it so we decided why not. I personally had a blast there and nobody even asked why me and their father were being so affectionate after months of avoidance. We ate cotton candy and he even picked me up a few times. Just like we used to be when we were younger and I love it. Now here we are at karaoke. Everyone has had at least one drink and the edge is gone. Hakeem and Tiana just sang 'I will always love you' together and it was funny. Tiana can sing but hakeems another story. My eardrums are still trying to recover.

"Ma, dad go up do something!" Mal says a smirk on his lips.

"Yeah come on do something" hakeem adds.

"No, I'm good" I state.

"Cooks has a bit of stage fright" lu says poking my side.

"I do not" I giggle, he knows were I'm thickish.

"Sure. Fine I'll do something for you" he says standing. The bar is pretty empty so its just us here. Hakeem whips out his phone. What is with these young kids and their need to document everything, I think to myself sitting back in my chair.

"Okay so this is a song I wrote wayy back when. It was when things were real tough and I saw no way out of the hood, cookie told me I'd always have a way out and that the music would be my outlet. So I wrote her a song. No she never got to hear it but I always kept a copy. Since this is my club they have all my music, so here it goes. Its called Must Be Nice" this information peaks my interest as I sit back in my chair and the music starts.

He sings and can feel all eyes on me as the tears spill from my eyes. I'm not even one verse into this song and I feel like its touching my soul. He's green starburst eyes are staring into mine with such intensity and I feel like I'm falling back in love with him.
