Raven POV

I grab my book bag along with my phone and run towards my drivers voice. This is like the fifth time me and noble been late this month alone. This private school my dad got us in is amazing. Much better than any school I've been to.

Since noble and I started living with my dad and cookie we've literally have had the best time. About two months ago my dad went public with the truth about us and we've adjusted pretty quickly.

There are always so many questions thrown at us but we try to take it one day at a time. Noble doesn't talk about mom much but I miss her and wonder how she is. Even though I know she the reason for a lot of things that's went wrong in my life, but I still love her she's my mom.

"Nobleee" I scream pounding on my brothers door. "The car is waiting" I add knocking harder. When cookie and dad stay at work late noble never gets up on time making us both late because our driver won't leave him.

"I'm comin" I hear him mumble.

"You have five minutes or I'm leavin" I snap walking away. I hop on the elevator and slowly descend to the first floor. This mansion is so big but I'm getting used to calling it home.

I'm walking down the driveway towards our car when I see the bushes move. What the? I continue to walk a little faster than normal until I hear my name.

"Ray it's mommy" i curiously but cautiously walk toward the bushes my eyebrows pushed together.

"Ma" I say leaning closer to the wooded area.

"Hey my baby" she whispers stepping out a little to hug me.

"Hey. Where have you been" I ask not hugging her back, she looks terrible like she's been doing drugs again.

"On the run" she admits looking in every direction before she returns her eyes to me.

"What about jasmine?" I ask staring at the evident needle marks on her arm. Not this again.

"She's been with some boy I don't know" she says trying to keep still.

"Ma you've been doing that stuff again?" I ask trying to sound as nice as possible. I may only be ten but me and my brother have seen some crazy stuff at the hands of this woman. My dad doesn't know about my mom doing drugs because before he came back into our lives she had just got clean for the first time since we were seven. Jasmine primarily looked out for us when she wasn't around. But when she got clean and decided to be a mom again she was the best mom ever. Back to her normal loving self but I guess she's been getting high again since we've been gone almost a year.

"Don't ask me nothing like that little girl" she snaps aggressively pushing me some.

"I'm just worried ma" I say.

"Don't worry about me worry about living under the same roof as the devil" she says referring to my dad. She's always has something negative to say about my dad and majority of what's she says is either a lie or just to make him look bad.

"Who dad? He's not that bad ma" I tell her looking back toward the house to see if noble has come out yet.

"When you start calling him dad?" Mom snaps rolling her eyes.

"What's wrong mom?" I ask trying to avoid her getting anymore mad.

"I just wanted to see you and noble and tell y'all I'm coming for y'all this weekend so you won't have to live with them anymore. Something is about to go down Ray so we're getting on a plane to panama first thing Saturday morning. Bring as much stuff as you can money too so we'll be good" she quickly tells me.
