"I don't care that I'm going, Kylo. But Oliver? He's only five!"

Kylo laughed, "It was his idea, he wants to see what his dad does all day and that includes the occasional meeting with the Supreme Leader."

You sighed, "Fine, fine. But it's not my fault if he starts crying in there."

"Relax, love," Kylo kissed your cheek,
"Our son is tougher than he looks."

...

"Kylo, Y/N... And this must be..."
"This is Oliver, Supreme Leader," You said as you helped your son up on to a chair between yours and Kylo's.

Oliver waved shyly at the projection of Snoke, who in turn only huffed, "Well, they're all the formalities we have time for. Commander, I'm sure you're aware that we have had an influx of new recruits over the last three months..."

Snoke's voice drowned out in your head– it always did when Kylo dragged you along to these meetings. You didn't care for First Order politics, but your love for your husband– and now, your son– kept you loyal enough.

A small tugging at the hem of your t-shirt snapped you out of your thoughts. You looked down to see Oliver trying to get your attention.

Your face fell when you saw the frightened look on his face, he looked as if he were about to cry.

You slowly put your arm over his shoulder, rubbing your hand back and forth over his arm soothingly. You knew this was going to happen.

You tried getting Kylo's attention without Snoke noticing.

"What's wrong with the boy, Ren?"

Too late.

"He's just shy, Supreme Leader," Kylo answered, noticing your arm wrapped over Oliver's shoulder.

He's terrified, Kylo, you thought, hoping he would hear.

He glanced sideways and you knew he had heard, he gave you an apologetic look. You were grateful he hadn't worn his helmet to the meeting– though he rarely did when he was speaking with Snoke.

"... Back to what I saying. There's not enough inventory to supply the recruits. You and the General will need to arrange for a revision of the Base's provisions to allow for– Now what's the matter?" Snoke said as he looked over to you.

Oliver had moved to sit in your lap and you were stroking his back gently, trying to calm him down.

"Perhaps we ought to continue this meeting later," you said to Kylo, knowing for well Snoke could hear too.
Kylo nodded, "If it's alright with you, Supreme Leader, may I suggest a recess? I will bring the General with me to our next meeting, so that we can discuss the matter further."

You were always amazed at how Kylo managed to keep his calm with Snoke.

"I don't know why you brought the boy with you in the first place," Snoke huffed.

You had heard enough.

"Well I wasn't just going to leave him alone, now, was I?" You blurted out in anger.

Kylo quickly put his hand over yours and squeezed it gently, trying to reassure you.

"Supreme Leader, I think what my wife meant to say was that Oliver is but a child. He means well, he's just tired."
Snoke muttered something .

Kylo continued, "If we might be excused, Supreme Leader?"

"Go," Snoke said before his projection disappeared.

"Are you okay, buddy?" Kylo asked immediately after, ruffling Ollie's hair.

He nodded, his head still nestled in your neck, "I don't like that man."

"I don't like him much either, Ollie," Kylo said, trying to cheer him up.
Oliver giggled, and you smiled at Kylo appreciatively.

"And wasn't Mummy brave? Standing up to the mean man for you," Kylo winked at you.

You laughed, "No one is allowed to be rude to my Ollie and get away with it," you kissed his forehead.

You stood up, picking Ollie up with you.

"Well, you don't have to see him ever again if you don't want to. Not if he scares you," you said.

"He was scary... And he was so ugly!" Your son exclaimed.

"Ollie! That's rude, you don't say things like that," you said.

Kylo snickered, taking his son from your arms, "He is a bit scary looking, isn't he?"

Oliver nodded his head, "I don't want to have your job anymore, Daddy."

"Thank the Maker for that," you mumbled.

Kylo chuckled, "That's okay, Ollie, you're still young. For now, your job is to look after Mummy when I'm working, isn't it?"

Oliver beamed, "Yep!"

"Come on then, you two, let's get out of here... I heard Hux has an ice cream stash in the kitchen. Who wants to help me find it?"

"Me!" Kylo and Oliver both exclaimed.
