It was a cold day as Ashton went to put on a sweaters and black tight jeans with his Converse. He grabbed his bag and phone before walking out the front door. He didn't bothered with his drunk ass father passed out on the couch again. It was a daily thing and Ashton is sick of it, so is his mother but neither would say anything about it.

They did one time and ended up getting slapped and punched by him. Forcing them to never talk about his problem. The memory triggered Ashton, making him shake his head and create a sweater paw with his over sized sweater.

Ashton walks into the school, knowing that Calum is sick so he's alone. He went to his locker and did his combination, as he opened the locker; he was greeted with another folded up note.

Why don't you like me?

He had to reread the note, just to make sure his mind wasn't mistaken anything. He had no idea who it's from and he know it's not from Calum. The handwriting was small and messy, it's obviously not Calum's.

He didn't understand why he was getting notes. It's the second time he found it, he crumbled it up and grabbed his books before heading to his first class of the day.

It had been boring and lonely without Calum by his side, Ashton doesn't really talk to other people and Calum's the only one that can plant a smile on his face.

He was waiting for the teacher to walk into the classroom when he felt a presence next to him. He look up from staring at his thighs and saw it was the one and only, Luke Hemmings.

"Hey Ashton,"he smiled at him.

"Hi."

Luke can see the disinterest in Ashton's eyes, but he doesn't understand why he's like that around him. Usually people like him and would like to have a conversation with him.

"What do you want?"he ask in annoyance.

"Uh...you seemed alone since Calum isn't here. I thought you would like to talk to someone."he inform with a shrug. He just wanted to talk to the smaller boy, it's not like he's interested in him or something...

"I'd rather be alone than talking to you."the smaller boy snapped.

Ouch...that seriously hurt, Luke thought before getting up and heading back to his seat.

Luke doesn't know why Ashton doesn't like him. He doesn't recall doing anything to him that made Ashton hate him...all he wanted was to get to know the boy. He went to look back at the smaller boy, only to receive a glare from him.

He doesn't understand why Ashton dislike him so much...it's not stopping Luke from talking to him.

It was lunch time and Luke couldn't help but stare at the dirty blonde. He hated how he was just sitting alone, slowly munching on his carrot while staring at the table. He bite his lip ring before looking at his table group, only to see the two girls talking about how hot Kellin Quinn is and Michael soon joining in. He chuckle since his best friend was letting his gay side show.

They wouldn't mind if Luke left to talk to Ashton.

He sneakily left his table and joined Ashton's, only to receive a glare from the smaller teen."What are you doing here?"he retort before taking a bite from his carrot.

For some reason, it made Luke mentally coo at the sight in front of him. He adored seeing the crinkle of Ashton's nose, trying to show that Luke was unwelcome to the table. Ashton was like a button in Luke's opinion; small yet cute. Sometimes his words were like needles from a pin; painful yet hurtful. Yet his smile is like a seeing a tiny button because it can make you smile and happy.

"Um, hello? Earth to Eiffel Tower...please stop staring at me and leave."Ashton's voice snapped Luke from his thoughts about the other teen boy.

"I'm not leaving."Luke finally said while folding his arms across his chest.

Ashton scoffed at Luke's statement."Is it because you're the superstar Hemmings that everyone in the school adores and can sit wherever he wants?"

"What did I ever do to you that makes you hate me?"Luke suddenly question, not understanding what he ever did to him. All Luke ever done was being nice to Ashton.

In response, Ashton rolled his eyes while picking up his tray and throwing away his trash and headed out of the canteen. Leaving Luke sitting at Ashton's table, alone and confused.

Ashton headed to the library so he could finish up with his homework from last night and to be away from Luke. He hated how Luke is all the sudden up his ass. He wasn't before, why start now?

He went to shake the thoughts out of his head so he could do his homework and not get in trouble. He couldn't bare with the teacher annoyed by him since he didn't do the simple homework and having all the attention on him. It's not his fault that he had a long night last night from work.

He continued on with his homework until the bell went off, signalling that lunch was now over. He sighed and stuffed the homework in his book and went to his next class.

As he walked in the class, he mentally cursed since he had the upcoming class with Luke Hemmings. Ashton head to his seat as he could sense Luke staring at him. He went to look at him and his blue eyes were pleading for Ashton to talk to him.

Ashton just doesn't want to talk to Luke, he doesn't want to be around him. He doesn't understand why Luke wants to be around him, he just doesn't like him. He isn't afraid to admit to Luke, even if he tries—Luke will try to talk to him.

Little does Ashton know that he takes up Luke's mind.
