Ashton just wants to admit it.

He want to tell the world, he want to tell his family but he's afraid of his father's reaction. Ashton can't make his father pissed off, not when he's drunk all the time. But, the only person knows is Calum.

He face plant into his pillow when he heard his phone vibrate. Which turns out to be a text from Calum asking if he was going to watch him practice hockey. Ashton wanted the kiwi boy to have a supporter, but he didn't want to see the tall blonde with bright blue eyes and broad shoulders.

He gave in and texted him saying that he was going. The dirty blonde pulled on a sweater and his pink Converse before heading out.

Calum greeted his best friend at the ice rink. Practice was being delayed by ten minutes since the team captain was still going over paper works with the coach. The hockey team sat around in their uniforms, chatting aloud until practice started.

"So..."Calum said, dragging out the 'o'."I've heard that you've been texting Luke."

Ashton rolled his eyes before correcting his best friend."He's been texting me, even though I told him to text me for emergency."

"Luke would do anything just to talk to you. I don't know why you are being stubborn about liking him."

"I have reasons why."

"List them,"

Ashton tug on his tongue piercing between his teeth, contemplating the reasons why he doesn't like Luke Hemmings.

"First, he shows off just to get people liking him more. Second, he thinks about himself since he's the 'ruler of this school'. Third, he thinks he can get what he wants...truth is, he can't."

"Mate, none of that is true. The reason he shows off is to get your attention! Why can't you see that he wants to get to know you? Just give him a chance, maybe you'll realise that he's nothing like what you listed."Calum inform, he just wants his best friend to like Luke.

It's not like he can see them together....

Suddenly the doors open and the blonde was standing there, writing something on a piece of paper that is attached to the clipboard.

"I'm sorry about that."Luke inform the group."We are resuming from what we did yesterday."

Ashton went to sit on the bleachers, watching Calum as the hockey team is warming up. The dirty blonde noticed that the team captain wasn't out on the ice, trying to grab Ashton's attention. He curiously look around in search of the blonde, only to see him sitting not far from Ashton. Luke was concentrating on the paper, occasionally watching the team.

He went back to watch Calum gliding across the ice with the puck. Suddenly he starts thinking about how easy hockey players make it look like when they ice skate. He remembers ice skating with Calum back in year eight, the kiwi boy elegantly gliding across the slippery, cold surface. The boy could do swirls and pass by people without fretting about falling.

Ashton on the other hand, was constantly falling, his hands were gripping onto the railing; his legs were trembling under his body as he was struggling to balance on the thin blade. He remembers seeing Calum smiling as joy was plastered all over his face, on the other hand, Ashton was sweating in the ice rink.

Then remembered how the kiwi boy helped his best friend skate around the rink, promising to never let him fall. Ashton smiled at the memory of the both of them before he felt someone shake his right knee. Which caused the smaller teen to snap his head up to see who was there.

It was Luke. A smile on his face as he stares into the smaller boy's hazel eyes.

"Can I help you?"Ashton retort while folding his arms across his chest.

"I thought you were dead since you were staring off into space without blinking for awhile. So I came over here to check on you."the blonde answers.

"Why aren't you on the ice?"Ashton ask.

"Um, I'm doing paper work to keep up the information about my team mates. Being team captain is a lot of work."he respond with a chuckle while pointing out the papers attached to the clipboard.

"I saw you randomly smiling as well? What were you thinking about?"he adds.

"Just a memory,"Ashton shrug, not wanting to tell Luke about the memory of him and Calum.

"So I do see that you got your tongue pierced."Luke smirk, which caused the dirty blonde to roll his eyes.

"It's honestly not a big deal, it's just another piercing that nobody notices."he shrug, it's been awhile since he gotten the piercing and several people were just now noticing.

"I like it."

"Um...thanks?"

Luke chuckles before sitting down next to the tan boy.

"Did I give you permission to sit next to me?"

"Do I have to?"Luke ask back with another chuckle.

Touché Hemmings, Ashton thought before looking back at the hockey team.
It wasn't long until the practice was over as he's waiting for Calum to come out of the locker room.

As he was waiting for the kiwi teen to finish up, he heard someone skating on the ice. He turn to see it was Luke that was casually skating around, to make up for the time he didn't skate.

"Are you ready to go or are you going to stare at your boyfriend?"Ashton heard his best friend's voice from behind him, causing him to quickly turn around and look at the kiwi teen.

"He's not my boyfriend, and never in a billion years he will."the small teen huff at his friend's comment as the two walk out of the ice rink.

Little did they know that Luke was nearby and heard the conversation. He may or may not had ideas to make the dirty blonde his. A smirk tug on his lips at Ashton's comment.
