Ashton probably never felt happier about life before Luke asked him out. He would dread to go to school, but he knew that Calum would be there to help him through. Now he has Luke to look forward to seeing as well. But he's not ready to get too comfortable with Luke since they started dating and the school doesn't know that he's gay. And he's sure as hell will never open up to his parents, he already knew how his father would react.

He was gathering his books at his locker when he felt a presence next to him. He look over and saw it was the blonde."Oh hey Luke,  did you need anything?"

"Nope, I just wanted to walk with you to class."the blonde smile at him.

Ashton is glad that Luke understands that he isn't ready to tell the school that he's gay. Luke has been treating him like a normal friend, but occasionally call him cute nicknames. Luckily they had the next class together so Ashton can be with Luke a little more.

He still couldn't believe that scavenger hunt Luke did for him the other day. How much time and effort and possibly money into the hunt just for a boy like Ashton is unbelievable. He didn't deserve any of that, Luke shouldn't even be wasting his time on someone like him.

Calum has been mentally squealing whenever he sees the two in the hallway, or class. He's been extremely happy that Ashton is happy with a boy that has been crushing on him or the longest time.

Ashton did wish that Calum could be with the boy of his dreams. But Michael never said anything about liking the kiwi teen or saying he has any interest of dating him.

As the teacher was busy writing on the board and discussing about how the government is controlling the country, Luke went to hold Ashton's hand under the desk.

"If I ever make you feel scared about public affection since you aren't out yet, just tell me. I understand and I will stop, I don't want to make you uncomfortable."the blonde whisper in his ear.

Ashton's heart rate was increasing since this is the first time someone has held his hand. And the first time he felt admiration from someone that likes him.

Suddenly the bell went off, signaling that class is over as the two walk out. Ashton didn't realise that he was still holding Luke's hand until they were clear down in the hallway and Luke stop.

"I have this class next, you remember that we don't have fifth period together?"

Ashton fake a pout and still didn't let go of Luke's hand. He already felt comfortable with holding it, he didn't want to let go. He didn't want to feel empty again.

"I really enjoy this as well, but I have to get to class."

"I just got comfortable with holding your hand."the dirty blonde quietly respond while looking at his pink Converse.

"You did?"he smile at the smaller teen, only to have him nod in response.

"I promise at lunch you can hold my hand as long as you want. Now I have to get to class."he add.

"Okay, see you then."the smaller teen said before letting go of Luke's hand and went to his next class alone.

Luke watch as the smaller teen walk down the hallway, he too, already miss the teen's presence and wanted to just cuddle him and hold his hand all day. He still couldn't believe that the boy is his, he could admire him all the damn time and see the smile grow on his face.

"Are you going to come in or not?"he heard the teacher ask from inside the classroom, which shook the blonde from his thoughts about Ashton as he realised he was still standing in front of the classroom.

His face grew to red as he quickly shuffle inside as he had to face the judgments from his classmates as they stare at him. Luke's mind start racing about Ashton as he didn't pay attention in the class.

When the bell rang for lunch, the blonde never knew how fast he could run until now. He just wanted to see Ashton, but worries that he sounds like a clingy date since they haven't been dating for long.

He saw the familiar set of hair when he walked into the canteen and head to the table. He sat down next to the dirty blonde and smiled since he was in a conversation with Calum. Luke ponders if Michael is going to join them since he is his best friend and possibly has a crush on the kiwi teen.

It wasn't long before Michael appear and sat next to Calum so he could get access to the conversation more easier.

"So lovebirds, how is everything?"Michael ask the two. Luke look at Ashton and saw his cheeks flourish to a rosy colour, which made him give a smile in return.

"It's great..."the small teen quietly respond with a dimpled smile.

"Aw Ash, there's nothing to be shy about! It's fucking adorable in my opinion!"Calum smile at his best friend, knowing that side of him all too well.

"Give him a break Cal, he isn't out with the world yet. I know it might be tough for him but he's going to be confident as the times come. So chill your hot ass and give the boy a damn break."Michael respond to Calum as the kiwi's eyes grew wide at him.

"What?"

" 'So chill your hot ass', you honestly think my ass is hot?"

That made the blue haired boy's face turn to a dark shade of red as he tried to explain what he actually meant. Luke lost track of the conversation and look back at Ashton, who was casually eating his food.

"Is it alright if I could hold your hands?"he ask the other boy, making sure he is comfortable.

"Y–Yeah...go ahead."

Luke took Ashton's hand and intertwined his fingers with his under the table as they watched the other two teens were in a playful argument as Calum was saying that Michael likes him as the other boy was trying to make the kiwi hear him out.

The tall blonde enjoys the affection he is doing with Ashton, it's simple yet effective. But hopefully some day, they could be more open with the world.

That's one of Luke's goals.
