The whole thing was a month ago and Ashton still has nightmares about it. He knows it won't go away for a long time, but the nightmares aren't constant. Yes, he woke up the Hood family and they understand. He woke them up a few times and Calum stayed behind to make sure his best friend is safe and sleeping.
He hates seeing his friend in this condition since he seen Ashton always smiling and making jokes. It's sad, but its reality.
Tonight was one of those nights where Ashton couldn't fall asleep and the bags under his hazel eyes are getting more noticeable and dark. The only time he felt at ease the entire month when he saw that his father was charged guilty and will be sent to prison for many years. So he'll never see the man again and Ashton is extremely happy, but now he has to suffer from the trauma.
He lays in his bed, quietly playing The 1975 in his earbuds, hoping to fall asleep. Only finding himself staring intently at the ceiling and trying to drown the thoughts racing through his mind.
Suddenly he decides it was enough as he got up and put on a baggy sweater and beanie as he pulls on leggings and his pink Converse. He grabs his wallet and phone before sneaking out of the house and to the nearest café shop that's open for twenty–four hours. He was hesitant about calling Luke to meet up with him so they can talk and hopefully get the thoughts out of his mind.
He decides against it and calls the blonde, knowing he can depend on him for anything. That's what beautiful about their relationship, Ashton can depend on Luke for everything and knows that he will never let him down and vice versa. Well, he didn't want to jinx it.
After the first ring, he heard Luke's deep, raspy voice. Signalling that he just woke up from a deep sleep.
"Yes babe?"
"Uh, hey Luke...I hope that I'm not annoying you, but can we meet up at the nearby café?"
"Yeah sure, I'll be there in a few."
Then Ashton hung up, he was hesitant about saying those three words. He couldn't get those words out of his mouth as they just said those words not long ago.
He shake the thoughts out of his mind as he head his way to the café. The café is quiet as soft music is playing in the background. The aroma of coffee and fresh baked goods woke up the dirty blonde a little.
The atmosphere is pleasant as he wasn't the only one in the small café, there are only two other customers and a worker. He went to order a cup of tea since he didn't want to pull an all nighter. He then went to sit in a booth that's near the window as he sips his drink.
Not long after, the front door opens and he looks to see it is the beautiful blonde, looking for Ashton.
Luke spots the other teen and went to order himself a cup of tea as well before heading to the booth.
"I'm sorry for not being here earlier. It is a long walk from my house to here."he apologise while ruffling his messy set of curls before putting back on his burgundy beanie.
"You're fine, it wasn't that long of a wait."Ashton sighs before taking another sip of his tea while staring out of the window and into the dark world.
"Were you having another nightmare?"the blonde whispers while leaning in close to him, not wanting people to hear in the conversation; despite barely anyone is in the café at the moment.
"Not really, I was having a sleepless night. I tried listening to music at the softest level, but that didn't work. Bad enough I'm not getting any good night sleeps because of the nightmares."the teen sighs once again.
