Christopher's POV

I will let her cool down for a bit. I began walking around the nearly-cleaned room. I walked over to my desk and opened a neatly stacked file.

She chronologically arranged my contracts and alphabetized my books. She's amazing. I probably had over eighty contracts laying around and many of my books were scattered about.

I wanted to make things right. I walked towards her room only to find her quickly shoving her clothes in her bag.

"What's going on here? " I asked quickly, I probably looked so desperate.

"I'll be out of your hair soon, sir." She cheerfully said. How was she smiling? She had just cried.

"Christopher. " I stated.

"I beg your pardon? " She innocently asked.

"Call me Christopher. " I finished.

She giggled. What a beautiful giggle.

"Okay, Christopher! " She said with a burst of happiness.

Such a strange girl.

"Well, Christopher, it was nice to meet you. " She smiled and extended her arm. I reached out to shake her hand. Was she going to leave?

Well I won't beg.

"Do you need any money?" I offered, I at least wanted her to be okay. It was my fault that she ended up in more pain, after all.

"No thank you, Christopher. I'd like to work hard for my money. " She warmly replied.

"Wait, before you go, tell me- Where did you come from? Why are you so bruised?" I asked. I had to ask.

Her face immediately changed.

"W-well... I ran away. " She nervously stated.

"From who and why? " I asked, anxiously awaiting an answer.

"My s-stepfather, he abused me for so long until I finally had enough. I decided to run away. I wasn't allowed to leave the house.. ."

Her voice cracked.

"... I ran to the train station but he found me and beat me up for wanting to leave, luckily the nice security men stopped him. " Her face began to look hopeful.

I was in awe. How dare someone hurt her! Nobody should hurt what belongs to Christoph--

Wait, what?

I regained my composure.

"What are your plans now? " I asked.

"I'm going to make money!" She exclaimed with a big smile.

I chuckled at her gullibility.

"What?" She courtly asked.

"How will you make money? " I specifically asked.

"Oh...umm... I'll figure it out." She determinedly said.

And with one last smile she turned to leave. Why didn't I want her to go? Seeing her leave caused me to feel an intense pain in my heart. I then said something I probably shouldn't have said.

"Be my personal assistant. " I quickly offered.
