Alex's POV

Why'd he offer to ride me around the park? I won't be able to enjoy the fresh air knowing that he's behind me.

The ride was quiet for about five minutes. I enjoyed the silence. Seeing other patients sitting on the grass and walking around was just beautiful. Today was so beautiful. The sun was shining, the air was crisp and clear and I was feeling incredibly healthy.

I looked up to gaze at the clouds but my perfect view was blocked by Christopher's head. I had completely forgotten that he was behind me. His jaw is so perfect.

He then noticed me staring and looked down. Our eyes met, I felt an electrifying spark go through my body. The blue, cloud-filled sky was his backdrop. He looked like something out of a movie.

"What is it?" He said with a smile. His voice caused my insides to melt.

"N-nothing" I replied in a daze.

He smiled and we continued. After a while we stopped at a park bench overlooking a beautiful fountain.

He sat down and moved my wheelchair next to him. We stared at the fountain and after five minutes of silence he finally spoke.

"I'm really sorry, Alex" He brokenly apologised.

"I know, Mr Kenwa--"

"Christopher. " He corrected me.

"No thank you. I'll call you Mr Kenway. As I was saying, Mr Kenway, I forgive you. " I continued.

After more awkward silences, he finally spoke again.

"What was it like? " he asked

"I don't understand. " I replied with a quizzical look.
"The coma, what was it like? Were you scared? " He asked.

"Well, I was at first. I learnt how to control my surroundings. I spent most of my days laying on the grass of a beautiful meadow. "

"Okay... " He said with confusion. I didn't bother to explain any further. He doesn't deserve an explanation.

I might've forgiven, but I will never forget.

Christopher's POV

She hates me. She doesn't even need to say it. My girl hates me.

Why do I always drive people to hatred? I keep looking over at her. She's so beautiful. The way her hair blows in the breeze, it looks so unreal. When her green eyes look at me, I feel like its just she and I on this planet.

I then noticed a mini band playing in front of the fountain. They consisted of a guitarist, an accordionist and some dude banging on a single drum.

They began playing. Many people surrounded them. I recognized the song, it was Pharrels- Happy.

God, I hated that song.

I looked over at Alex, who was moving her body to the rhythm. She seemed to be enjoying herself, even though she was in a wheelchair.

"I see you like th--" I began, but was cut off by Alex getting up from her wheelchair, running towards the band and starting to dance.

She looked so liberated. Her body swayed with the music. Everybody who stared at her were smiling and clapping.

She began pulling people into her little dancing circle, whether it be old or young. Soon, most people were dancing. If they were not dancing, they were clapping and giving their bodies a shake here and there.

I looked at her, laughing and having fun. She brings happiness no matter where she goes. Look at how many people are happy because of her.

She then ran towards me.

Oh no. I know what's she going to do now.

"Dance with me, Mr Kenway! " she cheerfully said. It wasn't a question, oh no, it was a demand.

"I can't dance. " I slowly admitted.

"It doesn't matter! " She happily shouted. She then grabbed both my hands, I froze up. I felt like I was touched by an angel.

She gave me a little pull and I was weak. She then led me to the camaraderie.

I felt so awkward.

She noticed my discomfort and walked towards me. She stared me dead in the eyes, positioned my hands around her waist and began moving her hips.

She starting catching up with the tune and began speeding up her steps. I had to change my conservative "dancing" too and soon we were setting the park on fire.

After the song finished I had a huge smile on my face. She started at me in shock.

"You can actually smile? " She asked, stunned.

I cleared my throat, realising I've opened up too much.

"Let's get you back to your room. " I quickly said.

"Okay, Mr Kenway. " She said with a skeptical smile.

She's going to be the death of me.
