The big automatic doors opened and Mr Kenway led the way, I immediately rushed behind him. I was stunned by what I saw on the inside. Everything was extremely classy and huge.
The first thing I saw was two women sitting at what seemed to be an information desk. They were to talking and laughing.
'Work seems fun if you have a companion.' I gleefully thought.
I looked over to an infuriated looking Mr Kenway. They were just laughing, can't people occasionally have fun around here? As soon as they saw Mr Kenway, they immediately stopped talking.
"G-good morning, Mr Kenway. " the middle aged, blonde woman nervously greeted.
"What did I tell you two before! " he roared, causing me to jump. "What if some of my esteemed business partners came to visit unexpectedly! Would you want them to stare into this picture of incompetence!"
I'm working... for him? My legs began quaking. I started feeling sorry for those poor women.
"I'm sorry Mr Kenway. It won't happened again. " she pleadingly said.
"No! That was the final straw! You both are fired! Leave my building right now! " The last sentence was so loud, it caused an echo.
"But--" The blonde tried to speak but was cut off.
"Did I stutter! " he shouted. "Make sure you are out of her by the end of the day!" He then stormed off. I gave the women a consoling look before catching up to Mr Kenway.
We walked towards one of the elevators. As soon as we entered, everyone walked out. Was this some sort of witchcraft? He pressed a special button and the elevator started moving. Does this button take him to his own floor?
It was now only him and I. Alone in an elevator, with 26 floors to go. The first three floors were quiet until he gave me my first task.
"Miss Haytham, you'll have to post an ad online requesting the services two experienced information clerks. " he said.
How do I post an ad?
"I don't know how to, Sir... " I frightenedly admitted.
"Figure it out. " he coldly said.
                              "But, si--"
                              Ding!
The elevator doors opened to reveal a big and busy floor. There was about 30 glass cubicles and everyone inside them looked hard at work.
I stood out like a sore thumb. Everyone was wearing professional business attire. Mainly consisting of deeps grey's and blacks. I felt like a clown. I even heard a few grown women snicker after I walked by.
The men were nice, though. They kept winking and smiling at me. There's hope for humanity after all.
This one cute guy then came up to me and greeted. He had beautiful black curls with brown eyes and long eyelashes. I was about to greet back when Mr Kenway quickly butted in.
"Make friends on your own time, Mr Daytona or I'll be forced to relieve you of your duties. " he said through gritted teeth.
                              I. Hate. Mr. Kenway.
"Let's go. " he commanded, referring to me.
After walking a bit further, we entered a quiet room with one elevator. This must be his personal elevator. Fancy.
The doors opened and we were immediately inside his office. Everything was incredibly quiet compare to the floor we've just been on. Is this his own personal floor?
'Pretentious showoff. ' I thought. I began admiring the beauty of his office. He had breathtaking floor-to-ceiling windows behind his long, reddish-brown, hard-wood desk.
On top of the desk was a sleek computer, a laptop, a telephone, an intercom and a stack of papers. I looked around and noticed a smaller desk on the side of the room, not too far from his.
"Get settled. This is your workstation."
He walked towards the smaller desk and motioned towards it before returning to his own.
On my desk was basically the same techy things he had on his. I then noticed an iPhone on my desk. It looked so cool. I'm sure it's the latest model.
I picked it up and inspected it like a caveman that just tested out fire for the first time.
"It's yours, Miss Haytham. Don't look at like you're not use to seeing technology. " he annoyedly said.
I wasn't... but he doesn't have to know that. I looked down in embarrassment.
                              "Oh... " he realised.
