Christopher's POV

The car ride was getting really awkward, I needed something to break the tension. I, luckily, spotted a sign saying:

"City fun-fare. One mile away. "

I seriously cannot believe I stopped at a fare but seeing her face light up caused me to warm up inside.

"Look, Mr Kenway! There's a ferris wheel!" She squealed. Once I parked the car, she sped out at the speed of light. I immediately ran after her. I hate her reckless demeanour sometimes.

"Come on, slow poke!" She urged with a big smile.

Apparently, I was too slow because she turned around and ran towards me. She grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the "fun".

"Let's go on that! No, let's play that game! I want cotton candy" Her indecisiveness caused me to sigh. Why did I bring her here?

After fifteen minutes of strenuous deliberation, she finally decided on something.

"I want to shoot the cans and win that massive stuffed Pikachu toy!" She exclaimed.

"Fine, let's go. Just in case you change your mind... again. " I replied in a tiresome manner.

She shot me a playful glare and skipped towards the booth. I paid the man in charge and he handed her a pellet gun.

"Hey there, toots--" The dodgy, middle-aged, balding man greeted.

"'--Now you have three tries, don't mess it up. Okay beautiful? " He cautioned. How dare he call her beautiful? Does she have to wear a sign labelled, "Taken"?

"Okay! " She replied with much optimism.

She firmly held the gun and began to take aim. She looked adorable yet deadly. She squinted her eyes and took the first shot.

She accurately hit the first can, but it unfortunately didn't fall over. That's odd.

She disappointedly went on to the next can. She aimed for the can and pulled the trigger. She succeeded in hitting the can but, again, it didn't fall over. The same happened with the third can.

"Sorry, beautiful. Three tries and you're out. " The dodgy bastard said with a smug little smile.

She sadly returned the fake gun.

"Let's go, Mr Kenway. " She disappointedly said before walking away. I couldn't bare seeing her that sad.

"How much for the big Pikachu toy?" I asked the scheming, two-timer.

"Two-hundred dollars. " He quickly answered.

I opened my wallet and handed him over the money. He stared at me throughout the entire process. He must've seen the size of my wallet because he immediately said:

"Let's make it three-hundred dollars, Mr hotshot. " He smugly said.

He has the audacity to take on Christopher Kenway. Nobody takes me for a ride!

I grabbed his collar and pulled him in close. No homo.

"Don't you dare think you can bamboozle me, with one phone call I can have your entire life ruined. One phone call. " I began.

He began trembling.

"Mr Kenway, what are you doing? Don't hurt him! " Alex fearfully shouted. I turned towards her, maintaining my grip on the sad loser.

"Well, Alex, the nice man here was just about to give you a wonderful gift. " I returned my gaze to the snake.

"Weren't you, kind sir? " I asked with a hint of sarcasm.

"Y-yes. H-here, dollface. " He nervously handed her the massive stuffed toy and she began squealing with excitement.

"Thank you so much! I love it! "She happily shouted. She gave the dodgy man a hug across the booth. His face smoothed out a bit and, for a second, he actually looked human.

'That's the effect she has on everyone.' I proudly thought.

She happily skipped off. "Come on, Mr Kenway!" Before I followed her, I handed the man three-hundred dollars.

"Play your game fairly. I noticed how rigged it is. " I warned.

"I will. Quite a woman you have there." He fondly referred to Alex.

"I know. " I proudly replied before walking towards Alex.

"I wanna go on a ride now, Mr Kenway. Wait, first cotton candy!" She looked so cute trying to snake her arms around the massive stuffed toy.

"Okay, okay. Cotton candy it is. " I helplessly replied.
*******

Once we found it, we stood in line at the cotton candy booth.

"While we're waiting, let's look at the rides we'll go on after this. Kay, Chrissy?" She cheerfully asked.

Chrissy?

I warmed up inside. Anything is better than 'Mr Kenway', I suppose.

I smiled and gave her a nod. I then began looking around for potential rides.

It was then when I spotted someone I hadn't seen in a long time.

A tall blonde, with bob-length beach waves. That permanently scowling brat could be non other than- Claudia.
