Two days later...

RING!

Who would disturb me at four in the morning. I picked up my phone, It's Alex. Of course it's Alex. 'Look who discovered FaceTime.' I thought, rolling my eyes. I accepted the request.

"Hello!" She shouted, exaggerating the 'o'. She looked so lively.

"It's four in the morning. What do you need at four in the morning? " I said, trying very hard to stay calm.

"It's been two days. Pick me up. Now. " she said happily, maintaining a smile throughout the entire sentence.

"Can't you wait a few more hours? " I suggested.

"Pwease. I'm bored in this room. " She said in a sweet, cooing voice while doing puppy dog eyes. God, that's adorable.

I sighed at my weakness.

"Fine. " I said keeping a straight face.

"Yay! Thank you so much! " she cheerfully exclaimed. She gave me an air kiss and hung up.

She gave me an air kiss. Her beautiful lips puckered up and gave me an air kiss.

I dragged my tired body from my bed and walk towards the shower.

The hold she has on me is unbelievable.

I kept my shower brief. I didn't want to leave her waiting. I grabbed an apple and continued on my way.

I then had an ingenious idea, I'll buy her a gift. After fifteen minutes of driving, I stopped at Frankie and Georgia, the best jewellery store in New York. It was run by an amazing couple who've been together for over thirty years.

I walked in and was greeted by old man Frank.

"Christopher, my boy! What brings you to the old store? " he asked with a modest smile and firm handshake.

"Nice to see you again Frank. I'm looking a gift. Specifically for a female." I said with a smile.

"Is that Chrissy?" I heard an old woman shout from the back room. I hated that nickname but I loved Georgia, she was like a grandmother to me.

Frank was always so ditzy but Georgia kept him grounded. If it weren't for her, I don't he'd be a successful businessman today. They've supported each other through thick and thin. I've always secretly longed for a relationship like theirs.

"Yes, dear! "He shouted back. They were so loud.

I then saw an old, plump-ish woman walk in.

"Chrissy! It's been a while, I have seen you since you were involved with Claudia. " She pulled a disgusted face after she spoke about Claudia.

Claudia was my superficial ex-girlfriend, or as she'd pronounce it, Cloud-dia. She always expected the finest jewelry and a lavish lifestyle. She never treated Georgia with respect. My relationship with Claudia was more of a business deal than anything else.

"He's looking for a gift... for a girl. " Frank slyly said.

"A girl? I'm so happy for you! I hope she's nothing like your ex. Do you have any pictures of her? " Georgia asked.

"No, not ye--" I was interrupted by my phone beeping.

I unlocked it and began smiling. It was Alex, experimenting with Snapchat filters

Frank and Georgia suspiciously looked each other.
"Well, let us have a look. "Georgia quickly snipped.

I opened up the ten second video. She looked like a cute little puppy. I'm a lucky guy... well I will be, very soon.

"Meow! Oh wait, it's a puppy. Woof! Are you on your way yet? Hurry up slowpoke! "

She's so ditzy. Georgia and Frank seemed to love her.

"She's exactly what I envisioned for you! A beautiful, funny, happy girl. Her smile is so geniune." Georgia gushed.

"When can we meet this gem, Christopher? " Frank asked.

"I have to pick her up from the hospital now, that's why I'm looking for a gift." I explained.

"What happened to her? " Georgia asked, clearly concerned.

"She was in a car accident. She woke up from a three-month coma just a few days ago. " I said. I left out my contribution to the accident.

"That's terrible! The poor girl must've been scared to death. She's so lucky to have you. How long have the two of you been dating? " Georgia asked.

"Well, we're not dating... yet. " I said with a smirk.

Frank caught my humor and gave me a pat on my back, accompanied by a chuckle.

"Crazy kid. Now on to her gift. What are you thinking about getting her? " Georgia fondly asked.

"I was thinking about getting her a beautiful diamond necklace. "

"Great choice! Georgie here, has just finished a beautiful new piece. " Frank said.

He then revealed to me a beautiful necklace. It was not big and chunky, it was perfect and dainty.

"You've outdone yourself, Georgia. I'll take it. " I said.

"Oh, stop it you! " Georgia modestly replied.
Georgia then placed the necklace in a beautiful box and topped it off with a bow. I paid for it, said my goodbyes to Frank and Georgia and continued on my way.

Now time to get Alex.
