CHAPTER 23: TURN THE TIDES OF BATTLE

My eyes snapped open, steam started rising from my body. I heard a loud cracking sound as my head started healing back. I felt...... amazing, it was as if all my bruises had healed. I looked up to see Shekra was back on her feet attacking Keys. "YOU KILLED THEM! YOU KILLED MY FRIEND.....YOU KILLED MY BOYFRIEND!" she screamed as she punched at Keys. But he just stood there taking the blows, it was as if Shekras attacks didn't even phase him. "I gave you a chance to surrender" Keys said. Than he smacked her across the face sending her flying back.

Anger flooded my veins and I got up to my feet and ran at him. He didn't notice me quietly coming behind him, I threw my fist into his back. There was a loud CRACK! And Keys bent back and fell to his knees. He looked back at me "what? How are you still alive?" he said in shock. I threw my fist down at him but he stabbed me in the leg with his sword causing me to stumble and miss. I punched the floor and Keys rolled away from me. I got back up to my feet. And started marching towards Keys.

"Zack!" Shekra yelled, I stopped in my tracks and looked over at her. She was struggling back up to her feet. "Y-y-your leg" she stammered before falling back down. I looked to see that Keys sword was still impaled in my leg, no wonder I moved a little slower. I grabbed it and pulled it out with ease, there was no pain and the wound closed up. "Amazing" Keys said as he approached me. "Your one of those soldiers that fused your DNA with our technology right?" he asked.

I answered his question by throwing his sword at his chest but Keys caught it by the blade. "So you are, well I guess I have to-" Keys was interrupted by my fist as I punched him in the stomach sending him flying to the ceiling. When he started to fall back to the ground I jumped up and tried to kick him in midair. But he caught my leg and flung me onto the platform so hard the whole platform broke down into a pile of rubble. I got back up to see Keys was suddenly in front of me. He sunk his sword in my chest so deep it shot through my back.

"Hopefully this kills you" he said, "you talk to much" I responded. I than struck a punch at his helmet. Keys flew back with so much force he broke through the wall behind him. I started to steam even more. My body started to shake, it was as if the more a stayed like this the more powerful I got. I have to release this soon, and I knew exactly how. Keys got back up to his feet dusting off his armor, his visor was cracked.

"Good hit, I wouldn't suppose you'd be kind enough to give me back my sword?" he asked as he pointed at his sword that was still embedded into my chest. I was about to pull it out again but the weirdest thing happened. The sword started to steam and than.... My body ate it. The whole entire blade and hilt was sucked into my body until it was gone. I stood there shocked, was that safe? Keys grunted in annoyance. "Well, its been awhile since I did hand to hand combat, but it doesn't make a difference" Keys said.

Than he jumped at me like a lightning bolt. But I seen it coming, I extended my arm out in front of him. I focused all of my power into my hand. Suddenly a large beam of light shot out and engulfed Keys. The power of this blast was strong enough to destroy mountains but it only slowed Keys down. He put his hands in front of his face and struggled forward. The sleeve to my over coat burned to ash. Keys was inches away from me and that's when I executed my attack. I stopped shooting the light at him and grabbed him by the neck.

I than started to pour all of my power into his armor. "What are you doing?" Keys said as he clawed at my face. "What does it look like, i'm overloading your suit" I yelled. There was a large BANG! As Keys suit over powered and a few pieces of his suit fell off. I stopped pouring my energy into him and held his limp body up. But he started..... Laughing? "Whats so funny?" I asked through gritted teeth. "Your too late" he said, suddenly the glass that the memory ray was pointing at opened like a trap door.

All the air in the ship started to rush out. I was about to run at the ray but a beam of light shot out of it towards earth. Oh no we failed. Without thinking I flew out into space after the beam. I still had Keys in my hand and he tried to struggle out of my grip. The beam of light was flying towards earth but if I got in front of it maybe I could deflect it. I flew with all my might along side the stream of light, but I still wasn't fast enough.

We hit the earths atmosphere, the friction between me and the air made me and Keys catch fire. But I kept speeding on. I was a few inches away from the beginning of the laser but the earths ground was closing in fast. I wasn't gonna make it, I closed my eyes knowing I failed saving the planet. Suddenly I seen my little sisters face, her long dark hair and wide smile. My eyes snapped open and a wave of confidence hit me. I yelled as I pushed my body past its limit and sped up.

I flew past the beam of light with no problem and landed on the earths ground so hard the earth split and anything that was within two miles was blown to pieces. I stood under the exact spot the beam of light was about to strike. And lifted Keys over my head.
