MEMORY LOSS

CHAPTER 25:WHAT A SURPRISE

We were taken to the nearest hospital, but they took Keys to some military base. I was sitting in one of the hospital rooms on the bed with Shekra while Martin stood by the window looking out at the street outside. We didn't speak for awhile, I guess we all were to tired to say anything. The room door opened and the same doctor came in with his mask on. "You all do realize you can occupy your own rooms right?" he asked. Shekra held my arm tight "yeah, we know" she said. Martin walked up to the doctor and shook his hand.

"Its good to see you General Conners" he said. "Wait, your a general?" I asked. Conners looked at me with a confused face, "yeah, you should know that" he said. I shook my head, we than explained everything. From how I lost my memorys to now. Conners just stood there listening and nodding his head as each of us explained our side of the story. He sighed, it was hard to tell his facial expression thourgh the mask. "Well, I have a story of my own" Conners said. He than looked at me and reached into his pocket, taking out a thick metal bracelet.

"This is for you" he said, I looked at the large unattractive fashion accessory. "Ummm why?" I asked, Conners sighed. "Im pretty sure you've noticed that your..... Different from the rest" he said. "Your stronger, faster, and can fly right?". I narrowed my eyes "yeah, whats wrong with that?" I asked. "Well, this has never happened before, but the Kurt technology infused in you.... Is evolving, which means that no matter what your body will get more and more powerful" he said. I smiled "thats great, that means it'll be easy to beat the Kurt right" I asked.

Conners shook his head, "no, what I mean is your too powerful,  eventually your body will fill with so much power, just by taking one step on the ground you'd destroy earth" he explained.  I gulped, what a buzz kill. "And that's not the end of it, remember when you told me that your body had absorbed Keys sword?" he started. I shook my head yes. "Well, since it was made of tinnus metal like the rest of his armor, your body added the ability of energy absorption to your DNA, its like an update"

So was that why my body did that? I can absorb technology now? Why on earth would I sign up for this. "As you can see" Conners countiued "the results speak for themselves" he pointed at Shekra. I looked to see her eyes were drooping and her skin became a little more pale. I looked to see Martins legs were shaking as he struggled to stay standing. Was I doing this? Was I drawing power from them? I reached out for the bracelet. "I'll take it than" I said. Conners scoffed "I didn't even tell what it does yet" he said.

Was he disappointed? Its hard to tell with the mask. "Once this bracelet comes on it sapps your energy by 50%, but you must remember to empty the energy it takes from you once every week or it'll blow like a nuke. And don't allow it to fall in the wrong hands, or they'll be able to use the energy you store in it" he explained. "Thats a lot of rules" I said. He handed me the bracelet, "it is, just make sure you follow them" he ordered me. I put the bracelet on and immediately I felt a lot weaker.

Shekras grip tightened around my arm. "Don't worry Conners, I'll keep him in line" she said. "How if you can't even keep yourself in line" he snapped. I looked at him in confusion, was he angry with her? "You know you shouldn't of been out doing missions with your condition" he countiued. "Yeah but what did you expect me to do, Zack was in trouble" she said back. "Wait wait wait wait pause" I said. "What condition?" I asked looking at Shekra. She smiled at me and Martin started to chuckle. "Zack" she said, I sat there prepared for anything. "We're pregnant" she said, turns out I wasn't prepared for that. Shock and fear rised inside my chest. "What?" I gasped, "what a surprise" Conners said as he walked out the room.
