MEMORY LOSS

CHAPTER 9: GREEN LIQUOR

I woke up but not in the king sized bed I was when I slept, I was in my old bed in my old room. The only thing that changed about my old room was the fact that there was a giant hole in the wall and the sounds of screaming from outside. I jumped out of bed, scared and confused. I walked up to the giant hole to see something I wasn't prepared to face,there was a huge Kurt ship flying above the city blocking the sun. The only light there was came from the fire that was lit on all the trees. People were running in all different direction's as Kurt soldiers ran after them. People were being shot and killed before my very eyes. Dead bodies piled all over the place, I couldn't look at this anymore its to much. I turned back but was introduced by the blade of a sword, it sunk into my stomach and blood poured out of my mouth. The cold metal sent a shock of pain thourgh me. I looked into the face of my killer.

It was a Kurt, but this one was different, his armor was purple and his helmet had two spikes on either side of it. I felt my strength weaken at an alarming rate, my eyes closed and I fell. I jumped out of bed in a panic, I searched the room frantically to see I was still on the ship. I looked to my right to see Shekra was sleeping by me, it was only a dream, a very realistic scary dream. I got up to go to the bathroom, I needed to wash my face off, I closed the door and flicked on the lights. Than turned the water and started to wash off my face. I looked at myself in the mirror, my features were different, my cheek structure changes and...... Was that a 5 o'clock shadow? Wow I really changed over the years. I lifted up my shirt slowly afraid of what I might find, but of course I still found it.

There was a small scar where in the same spot where I got stabbed in my dream, I swallowed. I felt around it, was that dream a memory? Suddenly a huge BANG! Came from the dinning area. I pulled my shirt down ran out the bathroom grabbed my over coat and pulled my knife out. I rushed out of the room into the dark dinning room to see Amanda was digging in the fridge. I calmed down and put my knife back into my pocket. "Umm Amanda?" I said, she jumped and turned to me, "my gosh Zack you scared me" she said as she took a gallon of green liquid out of the fridge. "Sorry, I heard a loud noise and came to check it out". She looked at me and smiled "yeah I accidentally tripped over a chair when I came in" she said.

I looked to see that one of the chairs were knocked over, "oh, don't you think its a little to late for a snack?" I asked as I picked up the chair, "nope, on most planets its noon right now" she said as she reached into the top cabinet for a bowl. "Want some?" she asked as she poured the green goop into the bowl. "No im okay" I answered as I sat down, Amanda than came and sat with me at the table with two bowls of green stuff. She pushed one of the bowls to me "I said I didn't want none" I said. She stared at me with her bright beautiful eyes "you gotta try new things Zack, when I was a slave I never had the chance to live, laugh, love, so now that im free Imma live it up". Than she drank out the slime.

I looked into my bowl, it didn't seem bad, its like juice right?, "will it kill me?" I asked, Amanda withdrew the beverage from her face. "Not unless your afraid to get drunk" she said. I smiled, I've never been drunk before but its good to try new things, even if its a weird green alien sludge. I picked up the bowl and drunk, the taste of sweetness filled my mouth. It tastes like cotton candy, "wow that tastes a lot more better than I thought it would" I joked. Amanda laughed and took another sip, than I remembered the scar on my body and the nightmate I had. "Hey Amanda" I said, "what?", "I know your very smart and all, do you know if the Kurt ever went to planet earth?" I asked. She took another sip of her drink than looked at me with a serious expression. "Yeah, they took it over" she answered, fear entered me, "really?". "Yeah, millions died, but the survivors rose up and took earth back, ever since than the Kurt left them alone" she said than took another sip of her drink.

A little relief slipped into my heart than I drunk some more, "thats your planet isn't it?" she asked. "Yeah" I answered. "Your planet is one of the lucky ones, the Kurt usually destroy planets, no one knows why, but the Kurt is the most feared race in the universe". I took another sip of my beverage, "im sorry about your planet Amanda, wish there was something I could do" I said. She looked at me and smiled "its okay, setting me free was enough". We locked eye contact for awhile, I leaned in closer and she leaned into me, our lips connected and the world around us disappeared. I knew I shouldn't be doing this, my mind said no but my body said otherwise. I was trapped, but it felt good, no not good but great. It was as if I finally found true love.

"Oh my gosh!" a voice from behind us said, I snapped out of my trance and backed away from Amanda. I turned to see Steve was standing there with his jaw hanging open from shock.
