Valeria shyly walks up to the podium where Divine Jets stands. She's holding the box with our pins in it. She pulled out the gold pin and places it in her hand.
"The thirteen Districts will like to thank you for your sacrifice by honoring you with this symbolic gold pin, Valeria Valentine you are, T eleven." Divine says.
She tells Divine thank you and stands back in front of her chair.
The pin they give us isn't big but it wasn't small either. It was real gold. My mother used to have a locket she kept that was made of this stuff. It was from District 1. Before the 2nd rebellion we were aloud to keep such fine necessities, now we could barely hold costume jewelry to our name. The pin had the horrific burning Capitol symbol that sits around a gold circle. T-3 was stamped underneath of the symbol. My name is Ellaydra, not T-3. I don't want to be classified as a stupid number. I don't even like the number three. I'm more of an eight type of girl. Only because 8, is Xander's jersey number. But why would I even want a gift from the Districts. It's not Christmas or my birthday, so the only gift I feel obligated to accept is the gift of life; And thanks to Avalon, that won't be happening. All I long for is a happy ending. Not a stupid pin with a flaming bird on it. Another thing I don't like, birds. They're always flying around from place to place, going where ever the heck they want to go. I wish I can fly away right now. But I can't leave my cousin alone in the Game. Well, she has that loser, Mason, who could barely make a decent pass during a game. We usually associate him as second best to Xander. He's second best cute, and second best useful to me right now. I stand in front of my chair with a straight face while most of the tributes smile for publicity.
The dumb District Officials seem so happy today. For once, they get to stand on the side lines and cheer on the children who's parents worshipped their deaths and thrived off their agony we've inflicted. I guess, The Capitol Games is their way of pay back. But they haven't seen payback yet.
"Magenta Haysilee!"
Magenta with the ugly magenta exterior skipped to retrieve her pin. She was smiling and flirting with the camera. Okay we get it Magenta, you are indeed thirsty for attention. When training comes, don't be mad when you recieve a 3 as your score because you can't even pick up a spear. Let's see how much those sponsors like you now.
"The thirteen Districts will like to thank you for your sacrifice by honoring you with this symbolic gold pin, Magenta Haysliee you are, T twelve."
Magenta frowns. "I don't like the number twelve. It reminds me of District 12, and they produce coal. I don't like coal Divine."
She's such a brat, just take the stupid pin.
"Coal is a very important aspect in Panem," Divine says waving her finger.
"How?" Magenta questions. "I don't use it."
"Well we umm-" Divine says struggling to find an answer. "Ya' see it's used for, erm,"
"I'm waiting," Magenta impatiently jokes.
"If you put pressure on coal, it makes diamonds, and I know how much you probably like diamonds." She finally says.
"Divine, that's were you're wrong, coal has nothing to do with the process in making diamonds. Trust me, because diamonds are my best friend," she says smirking. "Next to gold." Magenta added while she fastens her gold pin to her almost see through dress. She winked at the camera and stood back next to me. I took in a strong whiff of her District 1's Eau De Parfums and started to fake a cough. Magenta rolled her eyes. "It's an expensive scent." She hissed.
"Dixie Chaney!"
Dixie was smoothing her little dress as walked over to Divine. She looks so cute with her blonde twist that are pink at the ends. Dixie reminds me of Avalon when she was her age.
"The thirteen Districts will like to thank you for your sacrifice by honoring you with this symbolic gold pin, Dixie Chaney you are, T thirteen."
Dixie started crying yet again. "I want my mom back! Bring her back now!" She wailed.
"Well, my father was killed during the Sixtieth Hunger Games so, tough!"
Without a peep, Dixie quietly sniffled her way back to her seat. I didn't know that Divine's father was killed due to the Games. No wonder she's our representative. I honestly don't care about the past Games. The Districts shouldn't have went against authority like that. Strange, because that's what Mrs. Eztatic, my principle says to me too.
"Severa Golstein!"
What's up with all these 12 year old's? Whatever, the easier to slaughter.
"The thirteen Districts will like to thank you for your sacrifice by honoring you with this symbolic gold pin, Severa Golstein you are, T fourteen."
Severa smacked the pin on her chest and returned back next to Dixie.
"Isa Fae!"
The Morphling girl, I like her. She swayed back and forth as she walked and her feet kept getting tied up together, causing her to trip herself up. Some of us laughed including me. Most of the older tributes know how it feels to be high off of Morphling tablets because that's the only activity we enjoy together. We've all popped some at one point of time, but I think I've popped the most. The difference between Isa and me is that I am not as foolish and ignorant as her to take a few tablets right before the Reapings.
The thirteen Districts will like to thank you for your sacrifice by honoring you with this symbolic gold pin, Isa Fae you are, T fifteen." Divine says.
"Pretty!" Isa cooed as she placed the pin on her head.
"Isa sweety, you clip it to your dress." Divine says.
Isa ignored her and walked back to her chair, slumping over it as she loses balance in her feet while her face catches her fall. Fania and Severa had to help lift her back up but she ended up just passing out on the floor. Dazzle, Evander, and Slade let out a sinister laugh. Who do they think they are? Victors?
Divine called Fania Montesi who is T-16. We waited for Fania to clip the pin to her dress because the chiffon bust line was clustered in jewels and shimmer.
"Dazzle Dynasty!"
"Dynasty!" Someone coughed. Sounded like smart-ass Magenta.
"The thirteen Districts will like to thank you for your sacrifice by honoring you with this symbolic gold pin, Dazzle Dynasty you are, T seventeen."
"Thank you so very much Divine!" She said giving the camera's and friendly smile and then scolding at Magenta for the "Dynasty" joke which was quite impressive. That ugly bitch deserved it.
The last girl to accept her pin was Caldesia Lockheart. I may need to watch out for that one. Apparently she's skilled in long ranged weaponry. All Caldesia has to do is sit on a tree and pick off each tribute one by one. She's actually really pretty with her long ginger colored hair. I seriously doubt that color is not natural and I have a hunch it came from a bottle.
Caldesia takes the pin and sits down.
"Well, those are all the girls. Now for the boys!"
