Chapter 5-Fears and Emotions

Steve Rogers POV
'Is the day that HYDRA killed me', those last words caught everyone off guard. Sheba just told us all about her past and I believe that no one expected for her to say those last words.

We all just looked at her, I pulled her closer to me in a hug. She just started to cry in my shoulder. Looking at everyone else they all seemed on the verge to crying, all but Natasha. Natasha looked at Sheba with pity and sadness. None of us were expecting that kind of story to come out of her.

Fury was the first to break the silence. "Sheba if you will follow me, we'll have a small talk." She just nodded and gave me a reassuring smile before following Fury into his office.

Once she was gone Bruce was the first to speak. "Poor girl, she had to go through all of that alone."

"Lady Sheba is a strong warrior." Thor added in.

"No wonder she freaked out when she saw us." Everyone looked at Clint. "It makes sense because she waited for Cap."

"Please don't remind me of that."I said, it made me feel terrible.

"Anyhow, when she saw Cap she didn't really know what he looked like, I bet that she thought we were like this force that would take her and do experiments on her or kill her." Everyone just nodded in agreement.

"So now what, should we be there for her or what?" Bruce said. We all where quite before Nat talked.

"I'll do it." We all looked at her. "Look I may have been a bit angry at her but after hearing that story I get why she was like that." We all looked at her agin in disbelief. "Ok she needs a girl there for her and none of you are girls. She needs to let it all out and I'll be there."

"No I think she'll be more comfortable with Cap." Tony looked towards me smirking.

"What do you mean, she'll be more comfortable with me?" Tony and everyone else looked at me with shocked faces. "What?!"

"You're kidding right?" Clint said in disbelief.

"What?!" I was confused by what they were saying.

"She likes you!" Natasha practically screamed. "She really likes you."

"She doesn't like me Nat."

"Have you see the way she looks at you and how when you smile she smiles as well." Bruce said.

I was going to say something else but didn't get the chance to because Sheba and Fury came in. Sheba looked happy as ever, What is she so happy about?

"Avengers meet your new teammate. Sheba." She smiled and waved, we all looked.

Sheba's POV
"Avengers meet you new teammate. Sheba." They all looked at me while I smiled and waved at them. "Sheba before you start we have to take some test and you have to go through the fear test."

"F-fear test?" That was not good at all.

"Yes fear test after that you'll be living in Stark Tower." My mind was buzzing around with the fact of a fear test. I may have told them my past but I'm not ready to show them my fears.

"Sheba?" My train of thought was cut short with Steve getting up and looking at me worried. "You look kinda pale. Are you ok?"

"Ya I'm fine, it's just I'm joining the Avengers and that's a pretty big step." He looked at me once more and then we all walked to the place where I would see my fears.
