Toriel's POV:

I looked at the sleeping baby Max, watching him snore quietly but heavily. He slumbers ever so often, just like his father. I picked him up gently and rested him against my shoulder, his bony hands touching my back. I smiled warmly, Max's skull placed next to my head as I took him downstairs. I have been meaning to teach the twins something now, now that they're both two years old. They grow up so fast!

Sans still had to finish feeding Amelia her dinner, since she is quite a picky eater. I rested the skeleton on the sofa, seeing his little eyes open. He yawned adorably, falling flat on his stomach on the sofa. I giggled and hugged him tightly, bringing him onto the floor. "Alright big tiger." I whispered, looking down at Max. "Heya T." Sans said, walking in with Amelia round his back. "Sans, I think it's about time we taught the twins how to walk." I said. Sans looked doubtful, but he gave in. "I suppose... but I'm not sure." He smiled.

Sans sat on the floor next to me, kissing my cheek. "Alright Sans, can you follow my lead?" I instructed politely. I got Max out from my lap and put his warm hands upwards, making him look like he was standing upright. Sans copied me with Amelia, noticing her slightly scared face. "It's fine, it's fine." Sans cooed, kissing Amelia on the head. I started to move Max forward, observing his attempts to move his little feet. Sans mimicked perfectly, slowly letting go his pinkie fingers from his grasp.

I softly and slowly let go of one finger after another while Max took steady trudges on the carpet. Sans followed carefully, looking at me with determined eyes. I smiled at him as I let go of another finger. I let go of the last two fingers. Max stumbled onto the floor, but there was a short pause before he did. The small skeletal child looked like he was going to cry, but I stopped him from doing so. Sans still had Amelia under support, but he was going to let go soon. "Hush dear, I've got you." I shushed gently, kissing Max's head.

Sans let go of Amelia's hands. She almost tripped over, but she didn't. Her little furry feet were planted on the floor firmly before she fell back into Sans's lap. I giggled. "You did it! She did it T!" Sans exclaimed, squeezing the goat child. I felt my heart melt, watching the father and daughter bond. I got Max into his walking position again with Sans by my side. "Alright Max, are you ready?" I said rhetorically. I moved him forwards, my fingers wrenching apart in quick succession. Sans eyed us both eagerly. The last fingers came off as the suspense was unbearable.

He stopped, standing upright. He was a bit more adventurous than Amelia, starting to move forward gently towards the sofa. He reached his destination and tugged the cushion. Max fell back onto the floor, straight into my paws. I hugged him tightly. "I can't believe it! You took your first steps!" I giggled proudly. "I thought Amelia would be the first to take steps." I said. I looked to the left and saw Sans cradling her softly. "Hey, maybe she was too lazy." He suggested. "I see what you mean about our personalities swapped with our children.

"Yeah... but it's weird though, isn't it?" Sans said. "I think it's adorable." I replied, hugging him tightly until we fell asleep with our toddlers in our arms.
