"Adam!" I have been yelling Adam's name for the past ten minutes, I've looked for him everywhere. I still have seen no sign of him. The only place I didn't check was the parking lot and I'm sure...
I know exactly where he is.
I run out of the schools hallways and make my way to the exit. And there I see him, leaning against his car taking a puff out of a cancer stick. I make my way over to him very slowly, not wanting to get him any more upset than he already is.
"Adam?" I mumble lowly as I turn to him.
He turns to face me and shakes his head, as if he was telling me to go away. "Adam, I know you're mad and I didn't mean to offen-"
"What did you mean by, 'people like me'?" He asked stepping a little closer to me.
I didn't know what to say because honestly I didn't even know what I meant by that. "Like you popular people who are always partying mad and having fun. I'm just the nerd girl who never does anything but work and watch Netflix. I just don't want any drama because I know what comes with hanging out with popular people. My sister is always with you guys and she has to fight all of the time, I'm just not for it."
He chuckles, "You really watch to much, mean girls." I'm so confused what is so funny to him? He was just ready to rip someone's head off.
"What?" I seriously didn't know what was so funny.
"Do you really think I would let you fight someone?" He looked serious now. I shrug my shoulders, not really sure what else to do or say.
"You don't have to be afraid of hanging out with me, I would never let anything happen to you." He steps closer, too close for my liking. I back up as far as I can before bumping into another car.
How ironic.
Adam is still inching closer to me, he stops just an inch away from me and lifts my chin with his hand, so that I am now looking at his beautiful face.
"Come to dinner with me." He demanded. His voice low and husky, I could feel my legs starting to wobble and butterflies flutter in my stomach from our proximity.
"I-I can't." I stutter.
Get it together girl, you can't show weakness! He will have complete power over you.
"And why is that?" He said removing his hand from my chin and placing them to his side.
"I have work after school for the rest of the week." I explain.
He stops a moment to think. "What about Saturday?" He urged.
"I don't know?" I hesitate.
"How about if it isn't just you and me?" He tries to comply with me.
"What do you mean?" I ask, slightly curious. Even if he makes a good suggestion, I still don't know about hanging out with him.
"Well, I know about the little movie thing you and Jace did, so how about we all have a sleepover?" He suggested. "Wait just Jace, you and I?" I asked.
"No how about you, me, Jace, Nina and Chase? But that's only if your comfortable." He tried to comply and it wasn't such a bad idea. But knowing my sister, she would probably ditch me to do things with Chase.
"I don't know what if everyone already has plans?" I warned trying to make up an excuse.
"I'm sure they will be fine with it, they have no lives anyways." He joked causing me to chuckled. Who knew Adam was capable of making me chuckle without punching someone afterwards?
"Okay, I guess we can do that then." I said. "I think we should get back inside, it's getting a little chilly out here." I shivered. He nodded and followed me back into the building. I still don't know about hanging out with him, but I want to give him a chance. Hopefully, he isn't as bad as I've heard about, and if he is, I will just cut him off.
