P.S, there will be a banquet instead of a ball to convince the people of Marcus and Emily's 'love.' Sorry for the inconvenience.

"Your Highness!" called a voice outside my door.

I groggily opened my eyes, rubbing my eyes to clear the sleep dust from them.

"Who is it?" I asked, my voice hoarse. After all, I'd just woken up.

"It's Adwoa your Highness."

"Oh Adwoa! Come in."

She entered, bearing a tray of fruits and oatmeal. Even princesses ate oatmeal apparently.

I looked at the clock hanging on my peach coloured walls. It was six thirty a.m.

Adwoa opened my curtains. The sunlight filtered into my room, temporarily blinding me.

"The light!" I hissed, diving back into my duvet. My soft, comforting, soft, warm, soft, inviting, soft duvet. Did I mention that the duvet was really soft?

"Make it stop!" I wailed. In reality, I just wanted an excuse not to wake up.

"Your Highness," smiled Adwoa. "You have to wake up sooner or later. And besides, you have lessons with Miss Johnson today."

I groaned, and snuggled deeper under my sheets.

I heard Adwoa sigh in exasperation, but I deliberately ignored it. It served her right for disturbing my beauty sleep.

"Please do not make my job any harder Princess."

"I don't want to get up!" I cried from under the duvet.

"Do not make me do something we shall both regret," she warned. "I have been given permission to do it by your mother."

I huffed, and continued to ignore her. "I dare you to try."

"Don't say I didn't warn you." I heard her mutter this last statement before she headed to my bathroom. I heard the tap running and a random idea flashed into my mind, but I ignored it. She would never try that.

As I slowly drifted back into dream world, I felt something wet and extremely cold soak me from head to toe.

I screamed. She had dared after all. I had to hand it to her, the girl had guts.

"Will you get up now, Your Highness?" she asked cheekily, her smile bringing out the tiny dimple in her left cheek.

"Don't have a choice now, do I?" I muttered to myself, before sliding out of my previously warm, now turned Arctic, bed. I slipped my feet into my fluffy bunny slippers at the foot of my bed.

"Okay, so what's on the agenda for today?" I asked, wiping my face.

She giggled, and I tried not to stare at her. It seemed that yesterday's discovery had made her more open to me. For example, yesterday, when she came to bring my food, she stopped for a two minute chat before she left. She had never so much as looked me in the eye before, so that was a pretty huge step.

"I don't know your routine for the day, but one thing I do know is that we need to get you cleaned up and ready for whatever the day may bring," she said, and I headed for the bathroom to do exactly that.

Twenty minutes later, I came out, having freshly showered and brushed my teeth. Adwoa had left, since I didn't need her help with my toilette, and I was waiting for Kianna to help with my makeup and clothes. Whilst I waited, I munched on an apple, scrunching my nose at the oatmeal. I despised it.

I didn't have to wait for long, because Kianna walked in then, closely followed by my mother. Honestly, those two were joined at the hip. Mum laughed at something she said as they entered, then Kianna looked at me, swathed in my robe, eating an apple and hair dripping wet.
