Chapter 23

Demi's POV

Caleb and I have been walking for what feels like hours. "Hey! There's a shed!" Says Caleb. He tries to run but I grab his arm. "NO!" He gives me a puzzling look. "That's where my dad.... Kills people." I say. I remember when I was younger, my dad would get beautiful girls and bring them home, rape them and take then to the shed and beat them with things that he had in there.

"He's probably not in there!" Caleb says. I yank him back. "NO! I will not let you go in there." I say. I hear the screechy door open and my dad walks out, blood on his shirt. I remember something. Niall. Please let Niall be okay!

I pulled Caleb out of sight behind a tree.

"Thanks Demi." He say pretending to wipe the sweat from his forehead. It was getting dark and colder by the minute.

"Let's go." I say as I pull him toward the shed. "I thought you said-" he was caught by Niall's raging scream. I jumped back and out came a MAD Niall. "NIALL!" I say as I run to him. He pushes me back as I fall to the ground.

"Stay away. I don't want to hurt you. I want to KILL your dad!" He says with a clenched jaw.

"Niall." I say at almost a whisper. I get up and hug him very right. I pull away and see his face soften. "I'm sorry." He whispers in my ear. "I'll make it up to you. I promise." He says. And with that he darts in the direction of my house.

"Are you okay?" Caleb says as he looks at me. "Yeah. I'm fine." I say.

Then I hear a curdling scream and a loud shot. I see Caleb drop to the ground.

"Caleb?" I say not believing what I just witnessed. "Caleb?" I say at a whisper. I didn't want to loose another one that I loved.

NO ...NO...THIS CAN'T BE HAPPEN !!!!!! No!

My mind goes crazy. My vision is blurry. I can't think straight, I fall to the ground. My thoughts took over me as I go into darkness..........

Niall's POV

As I woke up, it was so blurry. I was furious. He's a sick man. I want him dead. NOW! I run out of the shed and bump into Demi. I shove past her, and run up the hill and past the trees up the her house.

When I got up there, I saw he dad with an AK-47 in his hand facing toward me. He shot away to scare me. I heard a scream. If he just killed Caleb or Demi, I will...... I don't know. I'm already going to kill him

I lunged forward . I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I fall to the ground. I see my father walk toward me.

I haven't seen him since I was 13, because he left my mom for this....this... Girl who ment nothing to him.

"Dad." I say. I think I got shot but I don't know. I try to look down, but I can't stop looking at my dad. He was now leaning against a tree, and also holding a gun. I then hear police sirens. "Crap!" Demi's dad says. "I was starting to like how this was going to end.

With that he ran off into the woods and left me with my dad.....alone.
