"Hey, everything okay in here?" I asked, walking into one of the lounges.

"Yeah, there's a huge crowd tonight! I almost got bombarded," Jenna, an employee, answered while wiping sweat off of her face. Of course it was a huge night. Tonight was the special summer theme Rian planned back on Monday. Everyone had to wear bright colors and look more vibrant. Even I had to stop wearing my black button up and skinny jeans and switch it up a bit...to a white button up. What can I say? I hate bright colors, and white's not even a color.

"It's not that bad, is it? I don't feel like handling another huge crowd," Brendon, another employee, commented while getting ready to go onstage. After him was Ash and Hayley, then Alex who should be here by now.

"There's a lot of people, but it looks like a lot of people age are out there. At least it's not as creepy," Jenna pointed out.

"True." Both me and Brendon said in unison.

"Well, I'll leave you guys to it. I'm going back to the office." I waved at them before walking out. It wasn't that hard being in control. I kind of already knew what to do. Alex is usually the one who's in charge when Rian isn't here, but since he's performing, I'm finally in charge for once. Hopefully Mr. Merrick will let me be in charge more.

Speaking of Mr. Merrick, I walk into the office to see him in the phone with someone, sitting behind my...Rian's desk. I folded my arms in amusement.

"Yeah. I'll make sure to tell him when he gets back...oh he's just making sure all of the stri...oh, sorry dude. He was making sure that all of the employees were okay and that the show was running smoothly. Yeah, he's doing pretty good..." I heard him say on the phone. I couldn't help but smile. I don't know why though. I guess it's just nice to know that Mr. Merrick thinks that I'm doing a good job, considering he's my future boss.

"Okay, I'll let him know. See you later. Bye." He hung up the phone and finally noticed me standing there. He flashed me a smile, and if I was teenage girl, I probably would've swooned.

"Jack! Just the person I wanted to see. Sorry I took your chair for the night, I just wanted to see how it feels to sit here beforehand," He said while bouncing in the seat. I couldn't help but laugh at him. He's really trying to make amends with me. I guess after our conversation yesterday he felt bad for invading the place I worked at. Either that, or he's just randomly in a good mood. Either way, he's actually very talkative when he's not a teacher.

"It's okay, I understand," He nodded at my response. "Who were you on the phone with?"

"Oh, Rian called. He said he can't make it back to Baltimore by tonight so he wants you to introduce me to everyone, if that's cool with you. If it isn't then he won't mind rescheduling the meeting." He informed me. I gnawed on my lip while contemplating. I guess it wouldn't be that bad to get him situated with everyone. When I looked back up I noticed Mr. Merrick's eyes glued to my lip gnawing before he looked back up to me. Interesting.

"Yeah, sure, it's fine dude," I answered while smiling. He probably was just in deep thought or something. Nothing serious.
