"What do you want, May?" I asked as soon as she shut the door. I was in her apartment, which didn't look too bad. She had a decent blue and beige color scheme going on, with beige walls and decoration items, but blue furniture and other items. I was more focused on why I was here rather than what was in here though. She wanted to talk to me. According to Ash and Hayley, I shouldn't freak out about it, but I'm more suspicious than anything.

"Well, excuse me for wanting to catch up. Though I'd expect you to not want to talk to me." She answered. I sighed. I have no reason to talk to her in the first place to even want to. I sat on the blue couch while she went into the kitchen to grab us something to drink, I assume.

"What do you mean?" I asked again. She shrugged while handing me a can of Sprite. I frowned. I can't believe still remembered my favorite soda. Either that or she happened to like it just as much as me. I was actually right however, as I noticed she got herself water instead. She took a few sips before talking.

"So how have you been? How's school? Do you have a girlfriend? Do you have a job yet?" She set her bottle on the coffee table in front of the couch. I guess she really does want to pick up where we left off, like Ash mentioned. I couldn't bare to believe that, but what's so bad about trying it out?

"I haven't been doing so good but things are picking up; school's doing great, I passed all of my exams by the way; uh, I'm not into girls, and yes, I do have a job." I asked, rushing though the third answer. She looked a little confused, but didn't say anything.

"That's...great, I guess." She mumbled the last part.

"Yeah, what bout you? Do you have a job? Actually...it's kind of obvious you have one but do you like it? And how's college? I forgot what you were majoring in." I asked. I didn't asked where she worked at because I don't want her to ask where I worked.

"It's fun. Both college and work. And I'm going to a culinary school." She said a little bitter. I wonder what's up.

"Seems legit," I said while smiling. She smiled back.

"I'm assuming you're living by yourself?" She added.

"I guess you can say that." I agreed, drinking my sprite.

"What do you mean? You had to live with someone in order to stay in school, which I'm also confuse about. You're seventeen now, you can drop out of school. Why won't you? You always hated-"

"Maybe I actually want a high school diploma under my belt." I interrupted her. She frowned a little. Of course we were going to have this conversation. It was obviously too good to be true.

"Okay...but doesn't the school check and see if you still have a roof over your head?" May asked.

"Good question. They've gotten lazy with that. You can file online registrations, and do a bunch of stuff on the internet that parents or guardians would do. Welcome to 2016." I sarcastically said. She cut her eyes at me.

"Great. So you really don't need me," She said in a small voice. I furrowed my eyebrows.

"What?"
