Chapter 5: Wars

(Mark's POV)

We were walking to school and suddenly we saw Felix walking towards us. Yami and Cry were behind him. "Hey, look. It's the freaks next door!"

"Go away, Felix," I hissed.

"I'm so scared," he cried sarcastically. He grabbed Jack's arm and threw him down.

"Don't touch him!" I yelled. I ran over to help him.

Felix shoved me away. "What are you gonna do 'bout it?" Jack hadn't moved. I was done with Felix. "Huh? Nothing?" My fist flew to his face. He fell to the ground, blood trickling down his face. He wiped the blood off his face and jumped up. "You'll regret that." He threw a punch that I easily dodged. 

"Try me." A crowd had formed around us. A group of girls helped Jack up and a few others went to go get help. He tried again, but something stopped him. It was a teacher. 

"Break it up. Boys, in my office. Now." We fallowed her directions. Jack was there. "Now, what is going on?"

"I was walking to class and Mark punched me!" Felix lied.

"Is that true?"

Jack spoke before I could. "No! He's lying! Mark was protecting me! Felix threw me to the ground! Mark tried to help me!"

"Mr. McLoughlin, please calm down. Now, Mark, what happened?"

"Jack just said it. Felix is lying," I replied quietly.

"Well, boys, this is your warning."

"Thank you Miss..."

"Smith. Miss Smith."

Jack smiled. "Thank you."

When we got outside, Felix told us, "This means war."

We carried on with class normally, but everything was crashing down.

(Time Skip)

6 days. I have 6 days to decide. 13 days gone. 'Anti, can I talk to you? Man to demon?'

'Sure. What's wrong?'

'I'm going to give up my sight, but... I know I was planning to before, but, now, I'm not just doing this because he's my friend. I think I love him.'

'Finally you realize!'

'What?'

'You two are meant to be. That's why he's cursed.'

'But what if you're wrong?'

'Dude, seriously? Look, proms next week, as if you two could go together. If he says 'no' then say you meant as friends!'

'I hope you're right, Anti.'

'I will be, but prom is the same night you have to lose your sight...'

'I don't care. If being with him means losing my sight, so be it.'
